Just like in the good old days
we've had goose, pheasant, beef, venison... they're the ones i can remember but we've defo never had turkey. this year it's beef. good beef = nom nom nom
then again, if price is a concern it's a winner, and you don't end up eating turkey sandwiches for 3 weeks afterwards.
I bought a chook.
Goose is probably the best meat I've ever had.
but only cos the fat makes roast spuds beyond belief
Absolutely where its at for Christmas Dinner. And yes the roasties with goose fat are amazing. We never have turkey. Super boring meat, often dry, little taste, bleh.
just rest it for as long as you cook it
WHO'S WITH ME?
i love turkey.
but providing it's cooked well, well basted, moist and got a crispy skin and has been allowed to rest for a while then it's great.
you're Irish ;)
will bake a turkey, take family photos, say grace, put it on the counter cos it looks so Christmasy....and then bring out a ham to eat. Ha!
