or Calypso Carol
obviously others are more beautiful and magnificent and special, I love all Christmas carols but to me best are the ones that I enjoy to sing.
Calypso Carol reminds me of being little and having fun.
Little Donkey is sooooooooo lovely and makes me cry and I love donkeys and HE HAD A HEAVY LOAD.
one in a taxi one in a car,
one on a scooter hooting his hooter,
following yonder star
ooooooh star of wonder,
star of light
Sit on a box of dynamite
light the fuse and here we go

and Silent Night.
It's a very unusual 'carol' of sorts. It scares me quite a lot and makes me think of Home Alone
I liked the doomy, melancholic verses followed by that surging hopeful chorus. I view it now as a Joy Division/Hope of The States-style precursor that strongly influenced the path my teen-then-adult musical tastes would take. Hark! The Herald Angels Sing and Oh Come Oh Ye Faithful sound wonderful with a full choir belting it out and all the harmonies working.
