What was that called?
Was it any good?
Sorry. The only decent memory I have of it is them miming to somebody's grandma in their living room. Did they make it in the end?
Played by the woman that played Des's mum in Neighbours.
In Pugwall she worked for Mushroom records.
the band was something to do with oranges
bass player something,
and me on my guitar
leaving thread, going to bed.
"With drums a thumping" (drums thump)
"bass player pumping" (bass pumps)
"Keyboard and me on my guitar" (guitar flourish followed by synth stabs)
No! Not! Me!
Interfering bitch too, if I remember correctly.
Far better than No Sweat, which had a similar premise. God that was awful.
I used to get told I looked like Pugwall (lucky me!)
The Finder, or Finders Keepers or whatever it was called over here, as well. What a nation.
I'd always enjoyed the books it was based on, collections of weird short stories by Paul Jennings.
But when I was backpacking in the UK in the mid-90s I stayed in a YHA in Kensington and someone left a copy of a Pugwall book in the dorm. It was actually pretty good for a tv novelisation.
Was too old for Finder's Keepers too. Fuck you people make me feel old.
if so it was Pugwall.
or The Lost Islands? with the evil Kiwi who betrayed them.
But it was pretty good. Always with the flour bombs and generally a handful of plotlines repeated constantly so it did get a bit tedious eventually.
Don't remember the Lost Islands, but the mention of evil Kiwis reminds me of Terry Teo. Not that he was evil, more mischeivous. If I remember correctly the theme song was just a kind of chant "Terry Teo, Terry Teo". Kind of punkesque. Anyway the show itself was very cool. Kiwis actually make some pretty good TV shows - Seven Periods with Mr Gormsby is one of my favourite ever shows.
"Don't call me that!"
Pretty much paved the way for Shampoo.
was when Marmaloid went to some sort of theme park and vomited.
