y'know...nice places to go to and all that...best times to visit.
Take in the sites and sounds. There's a pub next door which doesn't look much but has Brew Dog beers on tap. Go there.
ginger pig - good butcher with the best sausage roll in town (http://www.flickr.com/photos/tehbus/4526095145/)
brindisa - good spanish shop with a grill outside for great chorizo sandwiches
monmouth - good coffee (especially filter stuff)
neal's yard - good cheese shop where you can try lots of cheeses and buy cheeses and they sell st john bakery bread, doughnuts and stuff - get a doughnut or an eccles cake.
go before 2pm, after 11am
chorizo sarnie?....yes please.
this will be good i hope. a day of treats
also, are there decent gift type things i could get for xmas presents? not just, eat on the day type stuff...if that makes sense?
they'll usually last for a while. brindisa, too, has good spanish stuff - chorizo that you can keep for a good while, canned fish, a whole jamon. i dunno if regular folk enjoy this stuff but i'd be happy receiving these as christmas presents.
I love a sausage roll. I'm gonna get one on saturday from this bakery place at St Pancras station....I can't think what its called though. It begins with PENN or PEEN, probably not PEEN actually. The sausage roll was just like that one and I got a nice slice of banana and chocolate cake from there too which was the best thing i've eaten in a while.
le pain quotidien?!
its called Peyton and Byrne. They do loads of nice cakes and some pies but this chocolate and banana cake I had was so nice. It was like a really rich chocolate fudgey sponge with like 2 strong banana creamy layers.
i haven't been there - sounds terrific! i will get it soon on your recommendation.
then come to mine and we'll try to hard boil it.
^ my dream for 2011.
All this innuendo about the two of you has got way, way old now, hasn't it? You've probably been sleeping together for months.
I don't think so. The answer is no as well. We haven't but it *could* be on the cards if he brings me an ostrich egg. I really want an ostrich egg.
You have my blessing.
it would to too awkward, and making those threads are probably my faveourite things about girls.
there's a girl i like at work at the moment and i'm thinking more about the thread i'll make when it all explodes in my stupid face, than i am about the possibility of actually going out with her.
I watched 500 days of summer today. I imagine you to be just like joseph gordon-levitts character but with the addition of a forum. It'll be deadly as im well like zooey deschanel.
its fucking expensive now
so so poor
i'm exaggerating to look cool
then I forget whenever I'm down there.
I can only apologise for this dreadful reply.
splendid open air greasy spoon bang in the middle with red and white checked tablecloths.
Good for watching people contemplate sausages and snobbing about sorbet while drinking milky coffee.
maria's, right? their bacon, bubble and squeak and cheese in a bap is real good.
You can try quite a few freebies that are usually on offer. I am weak and end up buying. If I wasn't having such a nightmare at work I would run across london bridge tomorrow and meet you quickly, but it's all a bit unpredictable just now.
The sellers all seem to love dogs. Therefore extra samples and freebies- particularly at the Spanish food stands I find. You'll come home full up. Yum.
