If I wanted all this kooky shit I'd go round Meowington's for tea, just show the bloody football ffs.
and he isn't worth much
he seemed to appeal to women of all ages. No longer.
you can see goal highlights on the Internet, so they think that 'analysis' and 'insight' from the likes of Lee Dixon is actually ADDING to the programme? Not to mention that fat nobber who does some extended 'comic' section on the Wigan game or whatever.
Just show me the fucking goals so I can go to bed please.
I hate the stupid cartoons before matches.
I hate the BANTS. Oh look at that manager wobbling his arms funny just like they do every week!
I AM GOING TO HAVE A FIT RIGHT HERE
I just don't think it delivers. They get people on who are a bit middling - the analysis isn't very insightful, and the 'banter' is weak. I think they'd be better off going down the route of that 'Apprentice: You're fired' programme, where they have industry people on for analysis and comedians for some actual wit. Instead we just have David Ginola admitting he's a bit fatter than he used to be and Lee Dixon admitting that maybe he wasn't as good as Ginola at kicking a football but he was better at kicking people and Colin Murray desperately trying to keep talking before anyone realises that the whole idea of football is actually a bit silly.
And I have to say that Hansen has really become by bete-noire. He used to be suave-ish (about 8 years ago) but has now just turned into a black hole of sarcasm, hatefulness and abstract nouns. A nasty piece of work.
MOTD2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> MOTD
I swear Lee Dixon is actually quite good. Hansen is useless now, he clearly doesn't give a shit. Mark Lawrenson doesn't either but he's entertaining with it.
Sometimes Colin Murray is horrible to the guests though. See Hanneman. He was asking the worst questions
I'd be much better than most of their current numpties.
Lineker's a good presenter, pretty articulate and amaiable. Hansen and Lawrenson have both lost it, Lawrenson especially is a miserable twat. And Shearer is......well, you know.
Lee Dixon actually offers some interesting analysis, has good rapport with the guests/presenter and seems like a decent guy. I like Ginola on it. I think they should keep him. DJ Campbell was laughable a week ago.
Why is it so hard to find a charismatic, articulate pundit out of thousands of ex-footballers?
who decided he had an upset tummy after his 7-0 merking. Imagine how far down someone's list they had to go before they got to DJ. I imagine several other Blackpool players had to beg off first.
They should make it a nice, half hour programme - all the goals from the weekend, nice and succinct, cut out all the bullshit.
Still better than MOTD1 though, that show is just sooooo long and tedious. Also, I've never understood how anyone can tolerate Lineker for more than a couple of minutes - the guy looks and speaks like he is on sedatives and everything that comes out of his mouth is obvious cliche or lazy/cheesy humour - naffness of the highest order. The whole format needs a drastic overhaul.
Just that MOTD2 is shit. MOTD is shit as well, just in a different way.
there I said it. Deal with it.
stick that on a plate and throw it out the window.
you should go on date with him or something.
and then you will be jealous because you liked him first and we will be mad at each other but in the end we will agree that friends come first and we will both swear off colin murray and hug with our eyes shut tight and you will smell my hair a little and a smile will play over my perfect scarlet lips
time much better spent:
- seeing if anything good is on 4Music/the other music channel
- dipping in to whatever slightly rubbish Saturday night films are on
- making tea
ditto during Maniche's desperate plea for you to watch the Football League show "please! STEVE CLARIDGE IS HERE!"
Not the former Portugal and Chelsea midfielder.
ANDY TOWNSEND'S TACTICS TRUCK.
Football Focus on Saturday
Live from Villa Park - the show had an angle which wasn't alienating to non-Villa fans (like me), lots of interesting content (Samir Nasri interviewed by his girlfriend!) and the delivery was technically smooth, lots of nice transitions, walking through corridors shots etc...
I like that Dan Walker (?) bloke. I lumped him in with the likes of Manish and Jake Humphreys (?) but he's way better.
especially when Walker runs into the stadium tour, as they have a couple of times. And the special from Valley Parade on the fire anniversary, which was on YouTube in its entireity last I looked, was excellently done.
