Yeah, three years late but finally I have seen the whole thing.
The ending was a bit of a disappointment but only because fannies like Jacques went on about how amazing it was. It's not amazing but it is good and it's very in keeping with the show's lack of resolution to things so I enjoyed it, moreso in retrospect.
I could have done with a Wire-like ending though: an extra long episode with lots of time to tie up loose ends and maybe reflect on things a little. That wouldn't mean it had to be happy but, you know, once you've seen the finalé to The Wire Season 4 or Season 5 it's hard for anything else to really finish in proper style, I reckon.
Anyway, a truly great show, minus those all/mostly dream episodes (what the fuck were they thinking?) that really knew how to make you hate a character then feel for them and how to rack up the tension even when it turned out there was nothing to worry about.
