i knew this was going to happen at some point!!!!
if it didn't need the projectors
will be great fro graphics programs and stuff
Why not have two pads, one on the desk and one on the wall?
I assume this is a prototype.
I think the point here is to move stuff between the two screens more smoothly.
than a massive twin projector system and fabric display?
In this instance they're able to use a couple of projectors they probably got cheap and series of lights to pinpoint movements. As a prototype goes it's great.
Your argument would be rather like question why someone doesn't make a model of the building they're designing out of the real building materials. "What? There are no girders in this? Pfffft."
That’s a crap analogy. A better one would be: Why would anyone migrate away from the car, if a prototype alternative was two lorries hitched together with a flowerpot in the middle?
I just don’t get what advantage the ‘curve’ gives, nor can I see why having a cumbersome desk/projector set-up would ever supersede a modified version of the currently available tablet systems.
It states in the article they're already looking at design issues this has made clear.
If it's a prototype then you get an idea of a device without the expense. You seem to be implying that a prototype is always the finished product: this is clearly not, just something to give people an idea of whether the device works.
Chances are they won't be able to get a curved LED display aspect and the projection system won't be fine enough so it'll fail but that's a different matter.
very low res projector thingy
jsut really shit
might build one
