Sauerkraut or Sprouts?
Scrubs. If my life really depended on it.
I can never keep up with these edgy HBO comedies
First few series were top notch, but went a bit weak later on.
Plus, Friends is total shit.
but in the long term, it could be sooo good. With scrubs, you can always just kick 'em to the kerb sista.
depressingly, if you type in "lisa left eye" to google, one of the autofill results is "lisa left eye lopes autopsy pictures" :/
especially into google images.
but I've no intention of doing so.
it's like you've passed the "looking at lisa left eye lopes's autopsy pics" tipping point
Friends does my head in.
I hate scrubs
choose between friends and scrubs or get the fuck out of my thread.
just generally seems more humorous particularly the early seasons.
Although if you track a graph of "redness of chandler's face" and "goodness of show" its a straight line down.
Friends is just seinfeld with story arcs. I mean i prefer seinfeld but I don't understand how you can hate friends, its not a dumb show like two and half men or something like that.
(I've got another one for how fanciable the female leads are as well).
I need to see these. See if they tally with my measurements.
We differ on some key issues:
Seems like something's gone wrong there.
courtney cox wank sock
lisa kudrow wank sock
You actually think Joey became LESS funny after the first series?
but he generally annoys me towards the end when there are too many 'Joey can't read' jokes. Or just because of the vomit-worthy few episodes where he and Rachel have their horrible 'relationship'.
Just because it's such a badly crowbarred in bit of plot, and when Joey does proper 'acting', it just reminds me of when he teaches an Acting Class.
when the others are slipping in to domesticity or their careers and generally being pretty boring.
and annoying cunt to favourite character on the y-axis. Equation is y=x^3. How does that tally with yours?
they are both pretty formulaic and if you've seen one, you've seen them all.
But I like the characters in Scrubs. I would like to put the characters in Friends through a blender.
So it doesn't really matter.
FYI, I can't open the pigeon thread because it's making me laugh too much in the office.
people only say they hate them to be try hards. Friends is so unoffensive it's stupid not to like it. it's designed to be liked by everyone. i don't know... i love friends.
scrubs, on the other hand, has that annoying flipsideways family guy type stupid thing going on. plus, that baldy guy is a total shitlicker.
E4 rolls back around to Season 1 of Friends.
It's actually quite clever sometimes!
Lots of jokes where they treat something trivial like a relationship/break-up!
Ross has a monkey!
Chandler's face looks normal!
Rachel's hair looks good!
but in comparison the start looks so fresh. Everytime it happens I feel like a new person. I imagine it's how Jesus felt after all his troubles.
you're suddenly into the Mark and Rachel awfulnessfest.
or if you tune in one day and 'Joshua' has just appeared and you know that you won't be able to get any enjoyment out of that day's three episodes.
Terrible, terrible episode.
Until then her story had been: spoiled rich girl moves to the city, learns to take care of herself and stand on her own feet, manages to break in to her ideal career etc.
And then suddenly she's fawning over this nothing guy and acting pretty submissive. Seemed like terrible writing.
But then some friends is also fucking great.
Probably scrubs though, Elliot is hot.
In the first series of Scrubs, only JD ever acknowledges the janitor, implying that he wasn't supposed to be real, just some kind of imaginary thing.
here's /the thing/.
Friends is just so so awful.
I just don't get it really.
So I'm a Scrubs man.
It's such a terrible programme. "Hey, look how lighthearted and wacky we all are! WACKY! But that's because we deal with serious situations, like this serious situation now. Here's a long panning camera shot where we're standing still and looking just off-centre, to show how serious it is. And in the end, it's still a bit serious, but it's ok! We have our humour to save us!"
Cannot stand the fucker.
but I still love it.
Then liked bits of both in the middle before going off the latter seasons.
I'm just kind of anaesthetised by them now and they reside in that realm of TV programmes I just kind of watch when they're on and I find wholly adequate.
