Has anyone read this? Its like a fast food version of American Psycho
thought it was absolutely brilliant and also offers some insight into some of the issues with the classic music buisiness model.
i heard they are turning it into a film too!
I felt a bit like it was trying too hard to be shocking, with some of the sex scenes towards the end (where he's fucking her with a wire coat hanger?).
Apparently that rapper in it - Rage? - is based on Goldie. And he always seemed such a nice chap...
All that talk of him trying to promote a 60whatever minute long track as his comeback single made me think of Goldie's second album.

but had to stop. It's so vile and show-offy. 'Look how many drugs we took! Look how little we cared about people! It's based on true people you know!!' I know it's supposed to be really unpleasant, but it is so unpleasant it's unreadable.
but that's exactly the way I feel about Bret Easton Ellis too, so fans of him may like it.
Who I like, so it's fine!
Probably helps if you were a teenager in the mid-late '90's. I rather liked the constant reference to various also-ran bands I liked at the time (Hopper, Ultrasound etc), which might not mean much otherwise.
