myspaz remains relevant for as long as those who use it (i.e. bands I might like) are relevant.
I use youtube, for some reason. No idea why.
myspace is much simpler: you google "band name" + "myspace" (or "music"), go to the page and then sample songs without having to leave the page. Usually they're studio recordings from the latest release, too.
With youtube, you gotta keep clicking: watch a clip, peruse the relateds, click and watch another, click and start watching another before you realise that it's the same as one you already listened to, or it's some shit mobile phone recording from a gig, etc.
but it doesn't work for me in this context.
Don't get me wrong: what works for someone works for someone, but I find myspace much more convenient. Hated it in the early days, of course, coz the coding was so fucked that the music player wouldn't work 73% of the time and the auto start on the player and/or embedded vids was incredibly annoying. Now that both these problems no longer present themselves, I find myspaz not only painless, but a pretty decent resource.
i do use "my_____" from time to time, but the awful layout / loading / everything about it meant i always kept it at arms length. mebbes i'll use it more now.
what facebook is to bebo
But as a band, the new layout for editing profiles, adding media and events is now SUCH A FUCKING BLAG
until i get bored after 10 minutes
i'll keep you posted
I hope it's not contagious.
it looks about 4 million times better.
quite literally 90 seconds of larks
MASSIVE pop-overs when you hover somewhere. Seriously, you fuckers in webdesignland, pack it in.
Anyone know if they've made event pages actually work again? Last time i made one it wouldn't even list the artists on the page unless they were findable on myspace and actually bothered to/noticed some thing they had to click to confirm. INSANE.
I logged in to check and had things to confirm, so nope, it's still mental.
Also, you can log in with a Facebook account now. Says it all.
