Prisons
Have you even been in one? Are they really that bad?
I'm not doubting that they're pretty awful but I just wonder, having never been in one my only access to them is through film and books and obviously if the book was like 'Did 200 sit ups today and you know, that mattress is doing wonders for my back' it wouldn't be much of a story so I only know the exciting stuff.
I heard that paedos and rapists are the ones who get beaten up in jail but how come then if they hate rapists so much they bum the weak one in the showers. Does that happen really?
I was just thinking that of course there are some terrible places like the Bangkok hilton and what have you but then when Louis Theroux was in that maximum security jail and he met that guy who was bonking that tranny - well no one seemed to be giving them a hard time like I imagined they would.
So, the point is, are there any good prison books that aren't sensationalised horrible stories like Damage Done/Papillon that you'd recommend?
Also, do you think there's someone who actually tries to enforce the smoking ban in prisons?!
LIGHT HEARTED FRIDAY.
