"reinvent the wheel"
and it all makes more sense
"in the entire history of music
about 3 acts have reinvented the wheel"
"It's better to be brilliant than to be original."
"Maybe, but that's not the question.
Is there anyone doing both?"
you saved me precious minutes that I am now able to dedicate to recontriving the castor.
more suitable answers to the music thread questions (i.e. answers which show an understanding of the question)?
Am I reinventing the wheel?
this is like that Ralph Wiggum "sleep is where i'm a viking" thing all over again
or don't get the other threads?
"Reinventing the Wheel" in that thread is being used to mean "creating original, inventive, genre-bending music".
"Reinventing the Wheel" actually means "to needlessly churn out the same stuff that's already been done over, and over again".
If you're "reinventing the wheel" you're wasting your time doing/creating/inventing something which has already been done, honed, perfected, etc.
No need to waste time defining Reinventing the Wheel when I've already nailed it. Reinvent THAT, punk!!!
on your definition. I added more colour. I tyred the wheel or something.
That said, the phrase has no valid meaning in music whatsoever.
called Reinventing The 'Wheel of course.
Stuck in the middle of the Telford Saturday night pub circuit.
