Ok. These were quite OBVIOUSLY the ones that came with the Toy Story 2 promotion in Maccy Ds. Jesse slotted onto Bullsyeye perfectly, Buzz Lightyear more than compensated for most toy stores general lack of stock foresight the year beforehand and Rex actually rode RC like a skateboard. I was even willing to overlook the disparaging size relationship between the two such was it's coolness.
God, so many. I do remember a particularly shite trend at school though where all the kids had Teenage Mutant HERO Turtles belt buckles. They were huge, yellow plastic things which - when cunningly sealed - just had a big BK logo on. But when you opened them.... COWABUNGA! Donatello's under their with his staff!
Proper bo. Except that they weren't. They were shit. And made you look like you'd been getting your clothing from oversize Christmas crackers.
What do you remember most fondly?
PS. As a sub thread, kids parties at these places were always tragic, weren't they? I remember McDonald's had a big boat you could sit in.
Wimpy made some poor teenager dress up in the Mr. Wimpy outfit. Some of my mates attacked the guy in it on their 11th birthday bash with a broom. I last saw the guy crawling out of the costume backwards and fleeing into the toilet corridor shouting 'I HATE THIS JOB!'
