nobody's in, so i'm listening to belle and sebastian and trying to sort stuff out for the day. i get to leave at 3 - am on away for the weekend and off all next week! (yay)
oh, now somebody's in. it was fun while it lasted!
Morning. I was watching the weather forecast on autumn watch last night and was surprised that the highlands in Scotland are going to get a smattering of snow today too. The arctic winds ablow! when does it normally start snowing over there?
it's impossible to know the true meaning of 'eclectic.'
Also, Elvis absolutely dominated.
I am not.
so functioning, but i might see it again, the way i'm feeling
Next time, you'll be staying the duration, right? :p
hope we get some proper stuff here like we did last year and I can wangle a few days off work out of it again.
i am within walking distance of the train station at both ends of my commute, so if the trains are running (which they almost always are, albeit slowly) then i can get into work.
last year, though, we got some great snow on a saturday. i made an igloo.
spent most of that time in the pub, as you do. I live five minutes' walk away from work at the moment, but I'm leaving my current flat at the end of next month so if it snows after then I can get my skive on once more.
It was really fucking painful :(
I've got a slightly vicious looking burn mark just below my knee, seriously.
taken with my mobile a few minutes ago
October 22nd is pretty early for this kind of thing, even by Stockholm standards - it's kinda weird to see snow on deciduous trees that haven't shed their leaves yet
just grey here...still am off to feed the ducks today!
(or piss in his snow)
pretty fed up with it by the end of March/beginning of April though
Also: The third picture looks like Primrose Hill
aka White Mountain or White Rock
and those pics are taken in Vitabergsparken - White Mountain Park or White Rock Park
which is nicely apt
some of wikileaks servers are inside that mountain...check this out
Theo will love this
Then it was a theatre
now it's a server hall
I took some good ones myself last year and I still have them on my phone, I might post them again if I remember
So so much.
IT'S THE FIRST FIRST SNOW I'VE EXPERIENCED IN FOUR YEARS, IT WAS SO MAGICAL
THEN I WENT HOME AND DRANK SOME HOT CHOCOLATE IN FRONT OF MY OWN PRIVATE FIREPLACE IN MY ROOM
i was asleep before 11pm last night. breaking bad is a really good show isn't it?
can't wait for my chilled out weekend. haven't done nothing in about a month, so i think sleeping and eating are well deserved.
it's not snowing down here, i wish it was.
also does anyone have any tesco-based top tips for food? i want to get some for tonight but am at a loss as to what is good from there/ideas for snack based foods.
I am really jealous that some people are seeing snow and I'm not. I want to move to a place where it snows a lot but I don't know if I could do it alone.
I had a nice time last night and I am now regretting leaving early. I was feeling a bit pants but I will definitely be coming to the next one as everyone was so lovely and I want to chat to people there more.
Today is the first JUMPER DAY since the summer.
That means NO MORE IRONING SHIRTS until next spring.
Also , I'm ready for action after listening to REFUSED on the way into work today.
And it's FRIDAY.
And a work colleague has given me FREEBIE tickets for the football tomorrow.
I've not used an iron for work stuff for about 3 years. Jumper all-year round for me.
The other great labour saving regarding ironing that I like is to just wear the shirt or whatever around the flat the night before you need it.
Maybe. I'm definitely The Type. Proper snug right now. But I'll be buggered if I'm gonna waft around the flat in tomorrows workshirt, the night before, just to avoid the necessary, but galling, 3 mins of ironing. Not really convinced it'd work either.
in the church near me. Saw A Prophet, finally. Underwhelmed.
Then came home to homemade chocolate and beetroot cake. Quite yummy.
Listening to Neil Young to keep me calm today. I'm trying to figure out how I'll fit in writing two articles into my weekend as well a science walk, a Japanese sonic boom show thingy, a wedding with people I've not seen since school and dinner out tonight.
I also need to have read Frankenstein for a lecture thingy I'm going to with Tristan next week. The Manchester Science Festival is AWESOME :)
Gonna try and get a job and go to the cinema
massively want to die.
massively never drinking on a week never ever again.
Wouldn't start this morning for some reason, so had to run up and down the street like a lemon trying to bump start it.
and its massively broken.
Don't think I've mentioned it before on here.
and then popped in to the Princess Alice on the way home and saw meths and pickedoeuf singing ‘Time Of Our Lives’.
Tonight, it’s Robyn.
This is surprising considering the amounts of vodka I consumed last night.
Brilliant evening! Elvis 1 and 2 (Meths) were brilliant. Elvis 2(Meths) was the funniest - considering he mumbled his way through Suspicious Minds as he didn't know the words. Chintzy lifting me up like a small child during Meths and Pickled's version of 'Time of our lives'. Xylo playing the exit tune to 'Neighbours' when Meowington left. Such a good night!
will make a battle plan for sunday and let you know. ROAST DINNER.
Roast dinner. Nom nom nom.
Good exit tune. I wish I could have someone to play it on guitar whenever I leave a room.
The weekend remains unknown.
with the songs i was playing last night.
Thanks whoever you were. You made my day :)
mega excited about going to Helsinki.
but right now really can't wait for the weekend. I'm inexplicably tired. think I might be anemic (for good reason) but was too tired to get up and go to the doctors before my lecture at 12. I'm lame
going to see saul williams tonight in manchester and trying not to drink too much as am doing a bookbinding course tomorrow!
are you still leaving the country. COME TO LONDON PLS.
best gig of my life. the whole band look so, so cool, kinda like a noisey bad seeds actually. james blackshaw was supporting and is a total chill dude.
now im eating some freshly fried BREAKFAST BURRITOS, cos i have class from 1 on. apparently my uni scheduling department no long considers lunch time sacred. outrage.
failed as it was sold out. grr. anyway, went to the gym, watched some CONCACAF Champions League and then the Office. Missed 30 Rock. ONly working 5 hours today. :D
I am barely alive, having crawled into work at 11. I think I have a stye in my eye. And I actually have to do a really fucking hard piece of work which involves trying to get an angry Nigerian to sell a mine to me and then doing something fancy schmancy on the stock exchange in ontario to pay for it. Fuck me, I really want to die. Friday is supposed to be about a good claret and pork, possibly in a terrine or a pie, eatne over several hours and finished by cashel blue. It is not to be spent at a FUCKING DESk.
