Might have been posted before but what ya gonna do?
Dunno. I might ask a leading Catholic to launch into an attack about the smug ubiquity of Mr. Fry; which ultimately appeals for him to stick to areas where his talent suits him best and where he doesn't come across as deeply irritating.
Much like a prefer eating a yoghurt to having a bone marrow transplant.
Although I don't like Fry when he's doing stuff like this. Thanks.
It's not just gobbing off for the sake of it. It's not like QI always ends up with Fry ranting like a druk about the evils of the church.
I'll try again then.
I like Fry in some instances; I don't like him in others. I find his ubiquity annoying. I find the wibbling praise which some people meet his every breath with irritating.
Just an opinion.
I like Fry, but I'm not a sycophant. As a lapsed Catholic, I agree entirely with absolutely everything he says. The Church is an unequivocally disgusting organisation and, as far as I'm concerned, enlightened and foward-thinking people of Catholic faith missed an enormous opportunity to reclaim (perhaps not the best term, seeing as they've never had control of it) their faith by maintaining a popular front against the Pope, the Vatican and its doctrine. I was much more disappointed with them than I was with the Pope- I expect him to be a cunt.

They're called Protestants, mate, been around a few centuries now. I'm sure you can find them if you have a quick look, got places all over, big towers, graveyards, that sort of thing. No worries.
I've no appetite for a debate on the relative merits of Protestantism.
I did have the mental image of Stephen Fry dressed as Don Quixote attacking a cathedral though. Ta.
used to do loads of sketches about the church, the pope and priests.......and they were all mildly irreverant.......but part of the mindset was that the people all knew that there were pervy priests and that they preyed on those in their charge....jokes concerning priests abounded.
Dave Allen did some great anti catholic stuff....even though he was a catholic.....his descriptions of him being a child and being terrified by catholicism were great
I very much enjoy a bit of Dave Allen.
