i might give it a go. got a few issues innit
for her fear of birds/butterflies/moths and suchlike
or was there a typo in your OP?
yes there was
although it sounds pretty awesome
"Hypo therapy is a well known cure method, which has positive results, especially illnesses of the nerve system. The cure is done when a person is in contact with a horse, whereby the person undergoes a curing process"
"It is the transport of cosmic energy by the contact of auras. The matter of the horse is a greater energetic source than the source of the matter of humans. Therefore, the rule is that the energy potential between the sources equalises – the man receives energy from the horse, which is shown by the increase of the electric potential on the cellular membranes"
sounds pretty plausible to me
but afterwards you don't know if you were faking or not.
You tend to want it to work and that can lead to you convincing yourself that it is working when maybe it isn't. Especially difficult if you splash loads of cash on it, and it is often expensive, because the your REALLY want it to work. I went for a few sessions for insomnia, kept hoping it would work but it didn't.
She kept saying that I mustn't feel any pressure to say things, think things, rush it etc. but I just couldn't help finding stuff to say about what I was thinking etc. quite quickly. But then I don't know if that was me just genuinely uninhibited. I couldn't tell dammit!
All the things we discussed felt a bit box-ticky though. Like I'm some kind of hypnotherapy cliche *sob*
the whole 'wanting it to work and pursuading yourself it has done so" thing, because essentially you ARE doing it to yourself. The hypnotherapist helps by putting you in a trance-like state and sowing the seeds of change but this is partly just to provide a platform in which you can harness your own thoughts etc to make the changes you want to make. It's a bit like when Derren Brown did that chair thing, people who were 'stuck' hadn't so much been stuck to their chairs BY Derren but more had pursuaded themselves they were stuck to their chair. If you still manage to make the changes, but you think it is mainly because you had pursuaded yourself the hypnotherapy had worked, is this it working or not? I'm confused now with what I'm even saying. It's a very funny old thing. If a tree falls in the woods, have you actually changed your mind enough to give up smoking? etc. I reckon even if you think you have convinced yourself it's working but ti still works, then it's worked. But I might be talking utter bollocks and probably most of this doesn't make sense. I'm ill and my brain isn't working very well.
I've been thinking about doing it to try and get rid of annoying habits such as biting my fingernails, chewing the inside of my mouth and wanking in public. The last one isn't true.
My girlfriend is doing it right now to help manage stress better. And a mate's girlfriend did it years ago to quit smoking and it worked a treat.
I'd like it done now actually as everyone in the company needs to be on standby in January to potentially fly to Washington DC...I want to got to washington DC for free.
I always wondered what happened if you're scared of flying yet you're expected to travel with work. I've got a 37 year old friend who has a crippling fear of flying and has never been on a plane, he's got a good job so the possibility of that happening is always there.
