No Win No Fee
So... I broke my ankle four weeks ago. My friend and I were play fighting during the last band of a heavy metal all-day concert. He performed a lethal Tae Kwon Do move on me and my ankle went snap.
A few days later one of these no win no fee solictors phones me up and asks me to explain what happened as I could get compensation. I twisted the truth a little and said I slipped over on some water that was lying on the floor of the venue. They called me back shortly after and said it was unlikely to be worth pursuing as the venue is council owned and they are very stringent on having all safety precautions adhered to correctly. Also I did not seek medical attention from the first aiders at the venue and so there would be no record of my accident. Thought that was that.
But then today a different solicitors phones me seeming to think I stand a very good chance. Bear in mind they are assuming I slipped over on the water. I just need to give them the go ahead and they reckon the claim will be successful.
They seem to think all I need is evidence that I was at the concert (I still have the ticket stub and wristband) and they need to check with the hospital I was admitted to that they did indeed treat me (well, they did). Should I pursue this on the chance I might get some a nice cheque through the door in a few months or back out because essentially I am not telling the whole truth and I don't want to go to prison for doing this (might this even happen?!)
