I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE DRAW LATER!
John Terry's crocked again. Good. England ought to find a couple of good quality young fit centre halves pretty sharpish.
Probably the same reason you're so bitter towards certain DiSers.
Also, HardLOL at 'soccer'.
In either a month, a year or 5 years. Always best to be specific
Marseilles 'could' take legal action against Nigel de Jong. That would be a bit OTT imho.
Did Scotland really play without a striker in the Czech Republic? Was it a similar style to the '4-6-0' Roma played a few years back?
Northampton's Andy Holt says that linesmen and officials are 'too slow' to keep up with players these days.
Sheffield Wednesday may benefit from some new investment to help secure their immediate future..
as ben arfa's value isn't going to go up now. i can't see them succeeding as the FA have the final say and UEFA surely aren't going to undermine a referee's decision, but they obviously want to create some pressure and they have the opportunity to cause a fuss.
He's only broken his leg for fuck's sake. I used to remember players breaking their legs and then COMING BACK ABSOLUTELY FINE. Does this not happen any more? It was hardly a Horror Break™ now was it...
I hope they don't succeed. As idiotic as de Jong's challenge was, I'm still gonna file it under 'Occupational Hazard'...
so it potentially ruins Marseille's chances of making much/any money off him in the summer.
whilst i don't think they have much of a case, i don't agree with your reasoning. he's injured due to carelessness on the part of another player. if you had your leg broken on say a building site because someone else didn't follow safety regulations you wouldn't put it down to an occupational hazard.
of course, atkinson saw the challenge and said there was nothing wrong with it...
Ok, put it another way, if Ben Arfa had run onto the dodgy Wembley turf last year, caught his foot in a divot (which shouldn't have been there had the pitch been properly maintained) and ruptured his cruciate ligament... Marseille would be in the same predicament but would presumably shrug it off due to 'reasonable risk' or something. A careless tackle is (for the most part - ignoring intentionally dangerous tackles) is a risk of playing football. It just is. Valencia got a worse injury last month off a completely innocuous challenge...
Anyway, I'm guessing we're of mostly the same mindset. de Jong is a fucking prick but legal action? That's nonsense...
i agree with you, but judging from the comments coming out of OM and French football in general this possible lawsuit is just to raise the point and perhaps set a precedent to prevent future injuries like this.
And good luck to them. Bit of an expensive way to influence behaviour on the pitch, getting the lawyers in, but fair enough...
I like to remember them as 'The Wonder Years'
the Wealdstone v Met Police replay tonight........
Pleased with another home draw. Fingers crossed they can get to the first round proper...
Wow, just wow. We never beat them, but we never lose with the new manager. Fulham, Leeds and now Diamonds at home I LOVE THE FA CUP!
STA were easily on top for most of the game but utterly failed to do anything incisive. Had one glorious chance to win it about 5mins from the end but their keeper did some kind of teleport-save.
