You do, right?
(Unless you've not seen it, obviously.)
and i always use a garlic crusher
so i'm pretty much no help to this thread.
I've seen it but I can't remember any garlic cutting. I suppose they were putting it into the cocaine or something were they?
There's one guy who cuts garlic with a razor blade incredibly finely. I just remember thinking that I wished I could cut garlic that thinly.
Yes. Every time.
(but otherwise, yes, I probably would)
I'm mostly thinking "This is really annoying and my hands are going to stink for days"
I chopped garlic yesterday around lunch-time; I've washed my hands a few times and showered once since then and the smell has gone.
Have you tried showering?
I just find no matter how hard or much I wash my hands after, the smell lingers for ages.

this also works for onions.
this also works.
I just think about how my hands will smell garlicky unless I go to the fuss of using a fork.
I don't think my hands smell of garlic after cutting garlic but if they do, I think i'd like it.
I also think of goodfellas the movie when i'm stabbing somebody up in the boot of my car. (i don't have a car)
i dont really remember it that well because i can actually cut garlic that thin with a proper knife ( i can do it fast too) Most impressive though is my celery cutting ....like an uzi's ratatatat.
Hopefully some manchester dissers might pop round to my appartment sometime in manchester to witness my knife skilz (currydinnerpartiesalavikramcentric)
can do with a knife?
I'm just quite "into" these little John Inman figures at the moment
|o - ooh bistro
they might feel a bit nervous.....i'd invite about 3 or 4 round, so they'd feel safer
also - i've been reading the Goodfellas book recently. even though ive seen the film a bunch (and am seeing it next month at the PCC!) its a really involving read. fascinating stuff!
it's got a little bit that you take out - just blast that for 2 seconds with some cold water and it's done.
(my previous one was a pain, mind)
I've usually already got a knife out from chopping onions, peppers, mushrooms or whatever so it makes more sense to just carry on chopping than to get a different utensil out.
But then, I also peel potatoes with a knife and not one of those peeler things.
you should get one of those peeler things
he not only didn't peel the potatoes but wouldn't even wash the dirt off before dropping them in the pot. Someone had to keep an eye on him during the terrifying evenings when it was his turn to cook, because the saucepan with potatoes in quite literally would have a thin film of mud bubbling away at the top
That's right, Theo, we haven't forgotten. You fucking lunatic!
Potato skins are tasty, you big girl!
a minute into it and they've only diced up his little finger into 100 slivers, whereas I've stabbed you once in the ear with a screwdriver and am already two stops away on the bus
when I'm stabbing people I think of Goodfellas
(^ obvsly not expert)
I love the lumpy texture.
but she knows about potatoes.
AT NO POINT SHOULD MASH BE LUMPY!
your opinion doesn't count.
but that's no excuse for poor standards of mash.
It's a fact Jack is too scared to test.
I tend to ignore this advice
whack it with the heel of your palm and then roughly chop.
No stinky fingers, no gunked up garlic crusher.
I mentioned this to someone just the other day. You've got to slice it so thin that it liquefies in the pan with just a little oil. It's a very good system.
I also think of it when I'm locking my enemies into freezer trucks to stop the Feds getting to me.
Love that film.
Am I alone in finding really long films about the mafia a little bit *whispers* ...boring?
but then you could take one of those Empire magazine Best 100 Films Ever lists and the chances are I wouldn't have seen 85 of them.
Except I'll have seen most of them and thought they were really boring. I think once a film looks like tipping the three hour mark people just assume it's an all-time classic.
And whenever I go to my friend's house and his two daughters pop their heads in to say hello, I always think of Chopper. I'm Chopper, their dad's a junkie and their mum's a whore.
and have never seen Goodfellas
