Need an argument settled:
Are mints different from sweets? Or are mints sweets?
A mint imperial wanders into sweet territory, but a Trebor Extra Strong doesn't.
I accept that it'll depend on the mint in question whether it is a sweet or not, but I'm arguing that a mint is actually a separate entity. Some straddle the boundary, but there is a boundary - not an umbrella.
But where does that leave after dinner mints? They aren't sweets but they are mints
I bit my tongue, but couldn't resist.
Bit slow today.
except for the NY thread a day or two ago, but that was very inevitable.
Started kinda late in the day at 3 or so, but hit the ton within an hour and 40-odd minutes.
Mints are minty sweets.
After eights are minty chocolates.
faux poshers would prolly say sweet. or dessert.
Or is that just a Wiltshirism?
We were an afters or pudding household.
anything else is pudding or cheese :D
I am going to St John's for dinner tonight and it is going to be LOTS OF PUDDING AND LOTS OF CHEESE BUT NO DESSERT :) :) :)
except Smints, which are breath fresheners.
Are tunes and lockets etc sweets? 'Cough sweets'?
At school there was a kid who ate a full packet of lockets in a 35 minute german lesson. He went red and gotr the sweats bad.
Sweets have to be sweet which mints are not - they are minty
you can't have a mint sweet or a sweet mint
they're either mints or sweets
