Anyone seen this? BBC Switch programme, on saturday lunchtimes, about teenagers in relationships. Amazing.
It's great viewing. If you want to feel really old, or laugh at the naivety of teenagers in love. Unless you are actually 16, in which case you probably use it as relationship coaching.
boy falls hopelessly in love with girl
boy is pretty much the sweetest 16 year old ever, girl is a typical insecure teenager
boy tells girl he loves her. Girl says it back because she didn't want to make him feel awkward.
Boy continues to fall madly in love. Girl is just a little bit meh. She puts it down to her extensive life experience that has always told her to be independent. And yet she feels vunerable, like she needs him.
Boy continues to like her. Girl suddenly realises that she actually really loves him.
Next episode - The One With The Morning After Awkwardness (no sex involved mind).
and the one where the dad of another young lad takes him out to the park to discuss relationships, says something along the lines of "well, when you DO get a girlfriend...." and whips out a condom. Totally embarassing like. On TV and everything. That dad is the kind of dad I want to be when I grow up.
Except the 5:19 show or whatever it's called (pretending that I don't know). They have a documentary/investigation strand that is really good - they did one about meow-meow that was probably the most reasonable, rational thing I saw on the topic.
