Hmmm, Imperial are gonna be a bit pissed off with that. I think they expected at least a place in the semis.
which I don't think I've ever done before.
But they were a bit unlucky with the way the questions fell, but then I suppose that it's quite necessary to be strong across all disciplines in uc, possibly helps to be stronger in the arts if anything.
I got the bridges.
I imagine that the Arts College will get thumped in round 2. That captain is pretty strong (if a bit of a cock) but he's carrying plenty of dead wood.
In the absence of an all-knowing talisman (your Trimbles, your Guttenplans...) you need a solid all-round knowledge squad. They ain't it.
Shame - it'd be quite good for a 'niche' institution to win it. Like SOAS or something. Or The University of Luton.
Oxford outperform Cambridge very consistently.
...but now I can worry about those more important things. Like how I'm going to sit through a big briefing meeting tomorrow morning if this evening's flatulence carries on. God knows where it's come from but it's beyond epic. I don't know if you can call in sick, citing "fantastically acrid flatulence" as a reason...
Great, now I'm never gonna sleep...
Just a bit of fun.
Hope you sort out that farting though.
Ah. Although you say that but aren't Oxford and Cambridge competitive about EVERYTHING no matter how trivial? UC has a certain element of prestige attached at least...
One of the Cambridge teams had a girl studying astrophysics who was pretty ace, although that's probably coloured somewhat by the fact that I fancied her quite a bit.
That fulcrum where lust and envy collide is not a pretty one.
HOW DID NOBODY GET ICELAND!?
After last week's confusion of the Caspian Sea with the Pacific Ocean, I'm beginning to worry about people's understanding of maps..
No. Same place, that's why. They get one island each.
In your face Imperial!!
I also fancied the guy that looked like a woman :)
i'm sure i recognised the make up guy and some of the others in weeks before.
having said that, wasnt it the art dudes first ever appearance?
so apparently it was their first time ever on the show.
i like it when he laughed at their scoffing at the questions.
he did the same last week with whoever it was whipped one of the oxford colleges, might have been Edinburgh.
I particularly enjoyed that.
I actually think I love the make up guy a little bit the more I think about it.
just think about that.
AND I'd even go so far to say that he pulled it off quite well!!
(pulled it off *snigger*)
Don't encourage him. I dread to think what he'll wear in the 2nd round if he knows the chicks dig it...
Ruin my Tuesday, won't you?!
Just because he goes to Arts College that makes him gay does it, you big homophobe? I saw you say that you can't deny it.
Another day; another thread descends into bloody-minded discrimination.
I actually don't think he is gay.
Contestants can enter every year they're eligible, so you often see the same players cropping up again. A player couldn't be on for multiple teams in the same year though - you can only be part of the team at the institution where you're currently enrolled for your degree/MA/whatever. But if you went from one uni to another to do a PhD or whatever, you could be on different teams in different years.
Leave the University of London will you, bite my arse Gimperial
I do enjoy that having left university 5 years ago now, none of the bitter rivalries have dimmed in intensity
I was gonna make a comment about how arts students have far more time to learn a wider-range of culture and other things than science students, so should have a broader knowledge (of less useful things), but frankly loads of science-only teams have done brilliantly in the past. So it's just that the Imperial team sucked.
