A QUIET corner of rural England was recovering yesterday after a bruising encounter with Boris the badger.
Five people were put in hospital and two police officers were sent scurrying for cover after the bad-tempered creature went on a 48-hour rampage through Evesham in Worcestershire.

We don't KNOW for sure that Randall was killed, and I, for one, certainly hope that he WASN'T, even though I do suspect that we are SUPPOSED to believe that he was killed, butchered and eaten by the people in the trailer. Pixar made every effort to show that the location of this trailer was probably southern Louisiana, a part of the Human World where scaly creatures are routinely eaten by humans, and where alligators in particular are one of the five major food groups. I've made several trips to southern Louisiana myself, and if Randall ever did find himself mistaken for an alligator there, he'd be the main ingredient in a pot of gumbo! Randall's skill at blending in and turning virtually invisible will be the only thing that could have saved him, though it certainly appeared that he was knocked unconcious and thus would not have been able to use it, so any survival on his part would have been nothing short of "Divine intervention", a miracle, in other words. I am hoping for just that miracle so he can return in the sequel, but not if it's in a lame, jaded "Randall comes back to get revenge" type of plot. If Pixar can't do better than that, I'm done with them.
Of course, Randall's fate also begs the question as to whether or not Mike and Sulley KNEW that there were people at home in that trailer when they threw him into it, and did they know that this particular trailer was located in a part of the Human World where Randall would almost certainly be attacked, killed and possibly eaten? I believe that they did, since it was part of Mike's job to know where those doors led, and I don't think that door was simply picked out at random. Now, I know at lot of people here hate Randall with a passion for the things he did, and that a lot of the people here also strongly support the notion of revenge as the best way to solve problems-if someone does something bad to you, do something twice as bad back to them, but I don't. Two wrongs STILL don't make a right. What Mike and Sulley did, regardless of whether they expected Randall to die as a result, was NOT self-defense in any way, shape or form, and was nothing more than an act of revenge. It was an example of two individuals who chose to be judge, jury and executioners of someone who had broken the law, to met out their own punishment instead of letting the justice system(and given that "jury duty" is specifically mentioned earlier in the movie, we know that the monsters DO have a legal justice system)take care of it, and letting Randall at least have the benefits of a trial and due process. We have a formal name for what they did-LYNCHING. If he DID get killed, and they at least suspected that this would happen, this constitutes 1st-degree or pre-meditated murder, plain and simple. It would not worry me so much that the movie was rated "G" because a character actually was killed, but that it was rated "G" and the murderers are the main characters, the "heroes", and are rewarded for their deed, and that the main "bad guy", the one who instigated the whole thing, gets off with a much-lighter punishment, most likely winding up having a fair trial and going to prison, IF he is even convicted. There is something really screwed up there.
I'm just hoping that what you said about the film being rated "G" means that Randall did NOT get killed after all and maybe we'll get to hear HIS side of the story in the sequel, though I'm not holding my breath on that.
Sorry missed a few!
