I have a major information headache right now, and I don't understand numbers or interest or overdraft or percentages and I just want to know which one I should go with.
An overdraft would be useful, but I don't need much, and hopefully wouldn't use it at all (my budget works fine with several hundred pounds to spare). But for emergencies would be good to have. Might be worth noting that my credit rating or whatever is probably bad - I had a phone contract a few years ago that I couldn't pay.
Railcard / freebies I'm not bothered about, and probably wouldn't be eligible for anyhow, as I have a year abroad.
On that note, I assume with the year abroad you set up a foreign bank account. So do you cancel the UK one during that time, or revert it to a normal account and then set another one up on return, or can you keep it as a student account even if you don't use it. Can you even get student loan stuff paid in to a foreign bank account :-\
So essentially I want a bank that's easy to use, ideally with a good internet system thing, and one that won't leave me with angry headaches, which are infinitely worse than information headaches.
In short: Who do you go with? Are they any good?
