I miss a race for the first time in ages, and this happens. To my favourite rider. I come through the door and open up the news to that. He was not only a brilliant racer but the nicest guy imaginable. I really, really can't believe it. I also don't think I'm ever going to be able to watch bikes again.
Imagine how the guys who hit him must feel.
Genuine talent, only 19, barely 18 months since he graduated from school. Surely would have been in the premier class within five years. Awful loss for the sport and for his family. RIP Shoya.
