I've got a Lenovo Thinkpad T61 (great laptop indeed) but it has a tiny 60Gb drive which I'd like to upgrade to a 500Gb one.
I've upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 since I bought the laptop, so I don't have the OS disks apart from an upgrade disk, and I'd also rather not lose my applications, so my thought is to clone the hard drive to my external drive, then clone it back to the laptop once I've installed the new drive.
How easy is this? I've looked around and it seems easy enough to physically replace the hard drive, but it's the cloning that seems more difficult.
I'd rather not pay some guy in a computer shop £30 to do it for me, I'm fairly good with computers, so opening up my laptop doesn't scare me.
