My neighbours are split into two camps. Some of my neighbours are very keen to recycle and literally dump all their rubbish in the recycling bins at the back of our flat. Any old plastics (despite the big poster up saying type 1 or 2 only), dirty tissues(!), cotton buds, cellophane wrapping, the works.
The other set of neighbours refuse point blank to recycle anything and dump it all - sometimes in a bin liner but usually just in an open Tesco's plastic bag - in the main rubbish bins so that the bin bags at the bottom always have a fresh layer of Carling cans, local newspapers, tins and empty cola bottles.
It's just SO depressing and infuriating...that's even before you consider that most of our recycling ends up in landfill sites in China. I live in hope, so I try to recycle what I can, when I can and yes, I did read the council's poster to check what I could and couldn't recycle.
Does anyone else recycle and get infuriated by people that don't?
