This shop is at the end of my street:
Any shops with great names near you?
that's seperatd into 2 sections. One called "Touch Men" and the other called "Touch Ladies"
Not really relevant after 2003??
Never gonna go there
Thai Tantic restaurant (crouch end)
Gizem Supermarket (finsbury park)
down the road from me. I don't live in Potton.
p.s. great thread
Chips With Everything. :| And according to someone I know, it also sold naughty magazines.
Also Sherlock Homes.
"Best Indian Restaurant in North London". Standard.
Oh you know, it's ok.
It's pretty good, actually.
There's one on Walton St in Oxford too. Fuck linking, I'm too stupid to manage it.
also Pizza Xpress on kingsland road.
and on shoreditch high street, Tronseal.
around the corner from me.
I always laugh when I see it.
Takes some gall to do such a direct rip of the original. Only a matter of time before a cease and desist letter finds it's way to them.
The Codfather (Fish and Chip Shop)
Rings N Things
Good Choi's Cuisine - http://bit.ly/b2SxW9
Every Bloomin' Thing - http://bit.ly/axFtIv
diy shop there called "dae it yersel"
"V. Good and co."
which was funny
Gash - Underwear shop
Gnads - Takeaway
I liked how they sold knickers with the shop name written on the front of them.
How did you find the Thurland? Ever go in?
I never went there, I'm afraid... probably wouldn't have got in anyway, as I always wear trainers and they have that sign outside displaying their strict dress code..!
I liked that in the middle of the afternoon they would have disco lights flashing and music blaring out at earsplitting volume, but the open doors clearly showed that there were just a couple of fat old men sitting by the dartboard :D
After a Nottingham Forest match it looked like a prison riot outside. The "strict dress code" always raised a titter. Hearing Kylie Minogue pumping out and a bald tatoo'd man dancing at lunchtime on his own will forever haunt me. I always liked the obvious tension between that, the social and pit an pendulum :D
Thankfully I was away from Nottingham on the day of the 'English Defence League' march, I can imagine it could have been interesting around there.. and yeah, that little group of bars that catered for vastly different clientele always amused me too :D
I once saw a guy get knocked back from going into the Thurland - to be fair, it was about 4pm on a Saturday and he vomited on the street WITHOUT BREAKING STRIDE, then tried to walk into the pub in a casual manner :')
Chris Kamara-balm cakes?
...with the tagline: Where the prices are Sofa King low.
There's a flower shop near my Dad's house called Back to The Fuschia.
Hairosmith in Godalming
Avant Gardeners in Surrey
Iron Maidens ironing service
R Soles of Brighton
Kids' clothing shop, Trongate, Glasgow.
That there's a kebab van in Bath called Jason Doner Van
Ken's Tuck-In Fried Chicken
"Must be good" and "Wok's Cooking" in Sheffield
Also seen "Wok 'n' Roll" in Oxford and "Wok U Like" in Chelmsford.
Two sandwich shops just 50 yds from each other.
I am, right now, sitting about a minute's walk from both. They are my two regular lunchtime choices. Joanna Goodbite's roll & sausages are the best in Glasgow.
I haven't been to either for a good while but they always raise a smile as I pass 'em on the 41 bus. Especially as it also invokes a daft recital of a Grange Hill "Ro-Land".
Anyway... across the road, eh?... ooof... Sainsbury's opening right opposite the Co-op eh? Etc.
Admittedly neither would have enough for you to use them as your main shop, but between them, they've got most things covered.
I'm a Sainsbury's boy myself to be honest! It's good to have it there when I'm at uni, good for a wee snack.
Has a jewelery shop/stand called Nothing. Across from it is a t-shirt shop called Next to Nothing.
T-shirt shop, or Next end-of-line outlet?
I was down in Great Yarmouth for a break last year and we encountered a shop called Shoes Galore. One of the letters had fallen off leaving a fucking brilliant shop name. Can you guess it? I have a picture of it somewhere.
just down the road form Go Dive scuba shop
There is also a Balti Towers in Halesowen, West Midlands
