This clip generated the most amounts of complaints, why? It's seriously not that bad at all. People are so sensitive.
so i want to write a letter saying that i wasn't offended
and make an anti-complaint about this clip, we will rectify the wrongs!
I find it offensive to waste paper.
"Dear...family guy creators, I didn't find this clip offensive but labmonkeya529 did,
ps. get some funny jokes?"
but that fact probably only increases fandom/viewership of the show. so no real harm done
not the fact that people are assholes
we are simple creatures, humans. We're drawn to things that are banned and offensive and gross.
and what harm will it do if a young person sees it? They probably wouldn't even understand it. I watched South Park from the age of about 8 and I'm fine...
oh no, 14 year olds seeing a joke about horse sperm, how shocking!
"To find out who is sponsoring Family Guy‘s, click here." Is this the sort of grammatical example we want to set our kids? I'M OUTRAGED!
the baby is swallowing cum
that's the beauty of it.
you wouldn't mind if it was satirically making a point, a la South Park, but i can see why this would piss people off.
but I don't see a child swallowing cum, I just see a cartoon character making a "joke".
There's a sentence I never thought I'd write.
Well, you'd have to be.
that stroke episode was pretty fucking despicable as well. Seth MacFarlane is genuinely a terrible human being
LOL TERMINAL ILLNESSES, RANDUM
is unfunny, unintelligent South park.
the 'palestinian alarm clock', Latino Maid are the two that pissed me of most, but a fair few of the jewish ones were just a bit uncomfortable as well.
i don't buy the whole "nothing is taboo" comic ethic that Family Guy lives off. That snide, apathetic shit is just depressing
when you play of a stereotype thats still widely accepted. The lazy mexican is still an accepted stereotype and continues to inform many opinions. Its doubtful how much of the audience will see any irony in the jokes at all and just tak them at face value.
It doesn't even seem to be ironic. It's just...there, a crass stereotype, and nothing is done with it. There isn't even a fucking joke. It's a kind of wierd post, post irony masquerading as risque comedy you see a lot these days which is indistinguishable from straight up racism.
a young, mainstream audience don't get irony, let alone post, post-ironic racism (if that's what it is).
It's like Smack My Bitch Up. Half the people who venerate that song probably think the person who wrote it genuinely enjoys 'smacking their bitch up'. The creator or whatever might see it as harmless but it really isn't.
no-one gets irony except you lot. ban this sick filth - it's the only way to protect the population from themselves.
Only then will The Elite prevail.
tbh, my only problem is with people who find the thought of smacking one's bitch up funny. I doubt it caused much real anger towards females, in the same way Family Guy probably doesn't *turn* people racist. Just a bit complacent of the writers.
I'd be willing to bet that Kool Keith does enjoy smacking his bitch up, even if it's just a spanking.
yeah... great... idiot.
not 'hahaha look at the foreigners'..
Family guy takes the piss out of American popular culture a great deal, and a part of that is the way that different people can get portrayed, this includes negative stereotypes
I mean, if you don't see that then yeah its pretty unwatchable.
This doesn't account for the terminal illness stuff etc. which I find pretty horrible as well.
its just, when many of the stereotypes are still in common currency theres going to be those who just accept it at face value and take it as a legitmation of their own stupid worldview. I dont know if I can really enjoy a joke if I know the joke runs the risk of perpetuating some substantial suffering. That having been said I'm probably a hypocrite on this front cause I enjoy brasseye even though it shares similar problems.
and hints at bestiality
no actual satire or message behind it which can be deemed positive
I can see why people would be pissed off
And I'm the...uh...what cures cancer?
You are the herpes virus.
but that doesnt really stand out as the most offensive thing i ve seen on it.
not even a family guy hater but I went off it big time when that shit started happening
But not for the reason they think it is.
am i late to the party with that one?
that the show had dared to use a new kind of joke on them
where was the cutaway?
That scene blows.
I thought the whole "I need a Jew" episode was actually the most offensive thing I'd ever seen. Just a load of jokes about Jews having loads of money. Wow, cutting edge shit right there
think that all prejudices are wrong. wether if its against? religion, race, gender, cultural backround, sexual ethnicity? we cant be like crusading anyone for any of those reasons."
Because that was barrel-scrapping dogshit
I actually quite like American Dad
but COME ON. It's post-watershed, so if your kids are watching it then you're a shit parent and I'm phoning social services. If you're an adult and you're offended, then good luck getting through life.
what's your comments on this?
It seems to be an idealogical response to something which *actually* ought to focus on protecting vulnerable victims.
it wasn't funny either. Family guy is so terrible.
...reminded me that South Park is everything that Family Guy aspires to, yet will never be.
and I absolutely HATE south park.
