Mel Brooks
Spaceballs was on SyFy last night and it is still wonderfully silly - not in an overly selfconcious 'LOL' way that modern parodies try to be - with almost every line being a perfectly written joke or pun, a fantastic cast and even great special effects.
Tonight I think I might try and convince my flatmates to watch with the Producers or Robin Hood: Men in Tights since we have both on DVD.
Probably Men in Tights actually. It's the lesser of the three so I can save the Producers for a grand finale.
Might see if I can pick Blazing Saddles up from HMV later in the week. I assume it'll be £7 or less. Bargain.
WHICH DO YOU THINK IS THE BEST MEL BROOKS FILM?
WHY DOES NO ONE MAKE GREAT SILLY FILMS ANYMORE?!!?
