In particular, Rocky & Robocop are great.
Maybe the brand that they were done for is the foreign version of Orange?
sometimes i wonder why i don't have any interest in something like Inception and then i think about this again and realise why
surely by now you'd think someone would make something with a completely different colour scheme just so it stands out from the rest. it's almost unwatchable to me.
FFS. I'm going to see this EVERYWHERE now. Back to pre-O Brother movies for the forseeable future then.
in red and white. HILARIOUS!
it's much worse than that. It appears to be inescapable for huge tracts of entire films.
not sure if that is due to the American servers we're on but still...
I do like green, though. At least that's something you can say for the LOTR movies: LOTS OF GREEEEEEN!
It's annoying, and as a designer I tend to notice these things a bit more than I'd like too, but it's not the end of the world. I imagine a large part of the blame lies with various colourists and cinematographers too, as opposed to studios and directors?
it's just that i've reached a point where i don't find the films visually engaging at all. it betrays a total lack of thought behind the art design.
most of these movies had great posters and one sheets to begin with, and Saul Bass-ing all of them doesn't really work. i mean, Robocop?
i like this turkish poster for Bring Me The Head Of Alfredo Garcia though
I used to have this fantastic movie poster for 'hang em high', alas when I google search I cant find it
Im not sure if having these posters helped contribute to my not getting much
I've been meaning to get me some of that for ages.
Italian's do great movie posters, I have this one Chinatown one up in my living room at the minute: http://www.allposters.com/IMAGES/21/CHINATN.jpg
the good the bad and the ugly can they please tell me? i want one that isnt any of the ones i've found.
Blues Brothers would be better in ... y'know, blue
'The film posters that lost the plot' is an odd gallery title. It clearly shoulda been the über-cory 'Poles apart'. Regardless, it's a nice gallery.
those posters are awesoem! i totally want to track some down
the quartermass one is ace!
I like the games covers
