all over the UK today apparently. Theyre everywhere here.
I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords.
Long speeches and a swarm of ants made the occasion particularly joyful...
every year. I HATE them, they really freak me out.
am i a victim of the pandemic or just delicious to all bugs?are they literally ants with wings??
it looked more beetley than anty. not sure quite what it was then but it bloody hurt.
it was awesome except for all the flying ants :( they were even sitting on the swans
The females fly up, the males swarm round battling with each other to mate with her. When one clamps on, the weight of the male drages the female to the ground, where her wings fall off. The males die. If I remember correctly from the book about ants I read last year. Ants are amazing.
They weren't flying ants but I wonder if it's related. Never happened any other time, couldn't stop itching.
Which was nice
I've not seen it that often before, i remember only one time propperly, in 1991 (or 1992) it's pretty cool. they won't be back today, will they?
I remember seeng them at thorpe park the year x:\ no way out (worst coaster name ever) opened. they got in my candy floss :(
I saw lots of them.
I blinked and missed them? Cruel, cruel, mother nature.
upping the ante
I want to see the flying ants :(
I don't dare go back into my kitchen when I get home then.
There's so much ant powder in our kitchen that it's a health hazard to humans.
I suppose I'll be cleaning up mountains of dead ants when I get home.
