We've only just upgraded the office from Win98 boxen. To XP. :-/
They're on a bunch of sites I regularly use and they're invasive and unnecessary.
If I'm not going to click on the banner normally, having the fucking thing take up either a 1/5 to 1/2 (depending on max'd or min'd browser window) of my viewing space is not going to make me any more inclined to investigate the product or service further.
To summarise: Normal Ads=OK. Fancy Ads=GTFO.

Not as good as the sensitive toothpaste one a few weeks ago (good demographics, , weedy indie kids, like it) which started talking without you even going near it. Awesome

It started playing some shit music over the amazing music I was playing on iTunes, and found the tab, paused it, then went over to another tab, and it started playing again.... ARGGGH
(yes, I realise I must have gone over it on my way past, but surely once you've muted it once....!!!!!!)
