it just seems weird...
That would have been a bleak masterpiece.
Making a film about Facebook, about the geeks who made it squabbling about it, is really...lame.
But if it was a film that highlighted the depressing nature of social networking world and the distancing effect it has on human relationships...that could have been something.
Let's get cracking on it.
*Man accepts Nan as ''friend'' on Facebook*
Man: Hi Nan. *Poke*
Nan: Hi Man. *Poke*
Man: How are you? *Poke*
Nan: I'm dying *Poke*
Man: That's enough poking, Nan
Grim. A quote pulled from your own youth?
god, if only there was some website that was our own that we were all on, all had some collective experience of, and posted on in the wee hours of the morning in our pathetic empty loneliness.
turns out the guy who tried to sue Zuckerberg WAS Zuckerberg!
i even listened to some more of the choir that features in the trailer - they do a good version of Station Approach by Elbow.
but it looks like theyre trying to dramatize something that just isnt that dramatic.
The only one I've not really taken to is Alien³ and that's mainly the stuff that was out of his hands dragging that down.
So aside from that he's made a couple of cast-iron masterpieces in the form of Seven and Zodiac, one of my favourite films ever in the form of Fight Club, but one I'll accept isn't necessarily for everyone (even if they are wrong, marckee), and two utterly ludicrous thrillers that still manage to be completely compelling, Hitchcock-esque brilliance, the like Brian de Palma would kill to produce in the form of Panic Room and The Game.
So yeah, it's fair to say that despite the subject matter I am almost as stoked for this as I am for Inception and I'm pretty fucking STOKED for Inception.
Christopher Nolan, Jonathan Nolan and David Fincher need to write an HBO drama series together.
but it looks pretty rubbish huh
also was that karen from the office
Even if it were just a ludicrously high budget commercial for vagisil.
Everything I've seen and heard so far from this movie is proving that theory wrong.
Hopefully it will surprise me.
