Man marries goat? anyway, I'd say that his behaviour was pretty, erm...
.......tell me ......is there anyone working here, who would be allowed to get drunk on works premises, so drunk that they missed an important milestone in their work (an event that cannot be recovered and done later)
and not be either sacked or severely repremanded/punished ?
Whether these measures will be satisfactory and/or effective remains to be seen.
like knocking on his door at all tims of day and night and explain that they are just checking up on his sobriety.
Why do they even serve alcohol at all in our parliament buildings?
That it makes you realise that there is something more sinister about it.
1) mps greed is not particularly satisfied by a bit of a food and drink subsidy.
2) the fallout that the public will have with regard to it means that often the disgruntled ness with regard to losing jobs having wage cuts etc will mean that the public...or newspapers will want to mention the injustice with regard to them getting subsidised booze....this will give all mps extra hassle......or will it?
dun dun derrrrrrrrr......cos they can always point out that scrapping it will not save much (obviously we think it matters cos its a matter of intent and them showing willing) and they are investigating scrapping it all together
The reason they have left this unecessary controvesy, is to distract....it enables the questioners to have one less question on which to be awkward and ask really serious important question,
It also leaves something undone that can still be done......so that rather than being asked as many serious questions about the economy and budget reductions (to which there are no popular answers) they can have a trivial dramatic issue to bluster over.
These politician guys are cannier than you or I may think, they are as slippery as an eel in butter.......we will be more and more regarded as a 'problem that need to be handled' by their policies.
'We, the people' will become the problem that they need to handle. It looks like politicians and the people are going to become mortal enemies.
