What are you doing?
Going to Scotland
Going to the penguin parade
Taking a penguin home
How I've missed free weekends. Maybe a BBQ tonight, an ale festival tomorrow. And another festival on Sunday... Of SPORT.
Laying flooring with my Dad and more DIY tomorrow
Tidying sunday, le sigh
Varnishing and putting up a stair rail at some point, going to Hendon's first pre season friendly tomorrow at Bisham Abbey, having a BBQ, watching the British GP and end of the World Cup.
And I'm not sure I can afford any of them. Gah.
Going to see a play about Justin Fashanu in Bethnal Green tonight (party time!), going to Brighton tomorrow (along with half of London if the weather report is right), Sunday dunno
i wouldn't get your hopes up, they don't come out THAT often....
I'm going to watch some football, play some Xbox, buy some shirts and ties for my NEW JOB and go see some comedy.
Erm, wouldn't that be the best time to see them?! Sliding around on their bellies down hills (cos that's what they'd do, obvs)
having made three trips to the zoo i've only seen two penguins out of the enclosure :(
keep an eye out for the baby pygmy hippo and the tapirs too!
Especially if there's a baby :)
I want that military penguin to come out. The others can do what they like. NO PRESSURE PENGUINS BUT I'M SITTING ON THE BACK OF A MOTORBIKE FOR FIVE HOURS TO SEE YOU, OK?!
But the rest of 'em came out on the one occasion we went. 100%
It's brill, one of them came and stood on my foot :D:D PENGUINS!
like the penguin off Wallace and Gromit
Drive down to Royal Lincolncestershire Spa-on-sea.
See the family for the w/e.
Drive back up in time for the Final.
then driving 3 hours to see my girl. Totally relaxing weekend ahead. Sport, sunbathing, reading, wine, DVDs, Sunday roast...
Then tomorrow the delightful Woking.
What the fuck are you doing in this hell hole?
it's a lovely 2 hour drive from Birmingham.
BBQ at my mates house then sampling the wonderful nightlife Woking has to offer. Any recommendations?
The only pub I like is a reasonably quiet one a couple of minutes out of town called the Sovereign's, always has a few ales, reasonably lively on a Friday night but you should be able to get a table insisde or out.
Avoid the war zone that is Cherstey Road and whatever the club in the Big Apple calls itself at the moment.
will carefully avoid Soveriegn's and head down Cherstey Road to the Big Apple or whatever. I don't think it matters, I will be too drunk and full of cheap burger to care.
or come to Glasgow and do a drinking comp in Sleazys with me, xylopwn, and my sister. (this is now our saturday plan. The weather is too bad for TiTP or beaches.) Also, a child in a pram on bothwell street just gave me "The Viccy". Fucking hell, Glasgow.
and am also slightly hungover.
I need to think of ideas though. Needs to be kinda healthy but very yummy.
Paella is a good choice
Ooh I've never made a Paella before...I think i would mess it up.
it's vegetarian and absolutely delicious. I unnecessarily chucked in some seafood. I also now have 650ml of sherry that I don't really want.
that'll use another 50ml
another paella too and then I'll just have 500ml to get through in three weeks. I need to hook up with some old ladies or a vicar.
Make this one, it's amazing (scroll down the sample recipe just below the author info) Ignore the noras peppers, I just put a bit more paprika in there...it's EASY. Add loads of lemon juice when you serve.
even I can do paella and I can't poach eggs. It may also be an excuse to drink red wine and coke again.
Many years ago I used to glug down loads of the stuff, I'm going to get back on it.
I only heard about it a couple of years ago and thought that it was all European and sophistimicatimed, then I found out it was a bit of a teenage thing to do. Don't care though, it's still dead nice.
what of it?
But... it might. just. work.
Also, brandy and chocolate milk (but not with a calimocho- that will curdle in your stomach and you will vomit.)
but it's definitely a teenage/scally thing too over here.
It's called Kalimoxto.
I've never made it properly, my spanish friends make it for me, when I do it myself it's just wine and coke.
Thanks :) I like Paella, just never thought about cooking it myself!
then beers, takeaway and the pub. my new lady might come along to meet my mates BUT it's likely it's going to end up a lads XDXD night. so she might not. it might be for the best... hm.
It's not *that* good!
I've built the zoo into the visit, and the camera obscura.
i want to go so badly.
just probably not worth a long trip for.
The otters are amazing.
bit gutted they don't have a slow loris or a pangolin though.
He'll be my best friend. Forever.
That pet penguin in Japan makes me sad, they keep it in a little glass hut thing and let him out to send him to the shops
You're this generation's Rose West.
So what DID you do with them?
for catching new animals
Trying to fit in some shopping for Latitude supplies. WHere I can wellies on the high street?
I got some from Asda, that's not high street is it.
so i'll enjoy them. i have a good excuse to stay indoors because i seem to have some sort of outside allergy. my arms burst out in a violent itchy lumpy rash whenever i'm outdoors, even in long sleeves
This weekend is about Quins v Bradford, the World Cup final and third/fourth place play-off, the continuation of the Tour de France, the British Grand Prix, England v Bangladesh one dayer, the first pre-season friendlies, SPORT.
I do want them all to be free and stuff but they do have successful breeding programmes for endangered animals. I think?! I dunno. It is a little heartbreaking seeing everything in captivity though.
I'd much prefer that all our wildlife wasn't in so much trouble though and we could see more stuff just bumming about in the wild, little water voles and awesome stuff like that. I love animals. I want to work at that orangutan place in Borneo nursing orphans back to health then releasing them :)
We were gutted when we found out that Edinbugger Zoodle doesn't have alpacas anymore. Apparently they're not endangered enough, or in enough need of study for there to be any real justification for keeping them.
They're being poached so often for meat and skin. They're so amazing! :(
going to brighton to meet some chums...hanging around for a bit....then meetin another chum....then going to see THE NATIONAL for the first time in my life....then getting really drunk.
should be good.
then this weekend, i'm doing very little. just a quiet one with mrs ccb and the little'un.
on Monday, I am going to be meeting Mervyn King. Apparently I have to call him "Governor" or "Mr Governor"
hope it's not too horrible
I am going to see my grandma and attend Witney carnival tomorrow as Mr S has to work
Sunday dunno depends on whether he is working again, world cup final though
Tomorrow - Brixton Windmill to see American Gods, Internet Forever, Bitches and Rock Of Travolta.
Sunday - maybe that 'Play' weekender thing at the National Theatre. I dunno.
you should set me up with her marckee, then we could double date all the time and go on holiday together...you'd like that, wouldn't you?
she already has a boyfriend.
I'll let her know you're available though.
tell her i look like a middle aged mickey rourke. girls love that.
:D :D :D
TOMORROW - going for a beer and then having my hair expertly sculpted to make it look less crap.
SUNDAY - macking hott chicks
*MAKING MAKING MAKING
The gull chick at our work is fucking massive now, might park that little beauty later.
So I'll be getting hammered and laying down the tunes
Tomorrow I might get my hair cut
Sunday = World Cup Final! I put money on both teams at the start but I win more if Spain win. Might have an impromptu barbecue for it
might have one, might not, might go to the pub
Tomorrow - Movies and beers. I'm gonna watch Fireball, a Thai movie which appears to be about an underground martial arts based basketball league where they play basketball TO THE DEATH. Or something. Should be awesome.
Sunday - Some kind of final of something or other. And, of course, beers. Beers beers beers.
Thai stuntmen are a bit mental. I watched a documentary on their leading stunt company called FEARLESS MANIACS which showed the training they undergo before being allowed on screen. It seemed to mostly involve them having the mother loving crap beated out of them over and over again until they either quit or are deemed suitably hard enough to be kicked in the face on screen. And yet they have thousands of applicants every year. And all for my drunken entertainment. God bless 'em.
while drinking white russians
football training in the morning followed by festival shopping
sunday is the DAY OF FUN!
then Something Serious.
tomorrow - driving lesson and going to watch Twilight i think.
sunday - hopefully BBQ, WC final and catching up on various crap American 'reality' tv programmes...
BUT YOU DON'T HAVE ONE!
Why does my work firewall see that as PORNOGRAPHY though?
That's the question.
NEEDY TURTLE :)
and i'm going to cook grilled chicken with garlic mushrooms, flat beans and broccoli in a yorkshire blue cheese sauce for him and my girlfriend. MINT. then hang out with him and our old housemates, drink beers, be LADS and maybe watch this http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0291559/
i am spending the entire day until then doing loads of dull html work to rebuild my website. anti-vibes.
Wave Twisters looks and sounds as if it's IMMENSE.
Then home for, most likely, another session on FM.
My life's a riot.
So you're finally going to see the penguins, brilliant :)
I am flying down to london tonight for a party in dalston which will no doubt go on till fuck knows when tomorrow. Then back up to Glasgow, sat night sit and chill on sofa.
Sunday heading up to T for a laugh!
...I'm staying in Kinross this weekend :)
You gonna be popping into T?
Bit skint and we're there on visiting duties and I've already hijacked everyone's plan by demanding we go to the zoo.
We're going up on the motorbike at lunchtime, longest I've been on the back for; bit anxious about it and I can't believe we didn't realise it was T weekend so fingers crossed for no traffic!
You should be able to weave through the heavy traffic on a bike, jusy make sure and hold onto your penguin tight ;)
It will involve a small screen in the back of the driver's helmet with built in Super Mario and karaoke capabilities. Maybe connected to iPlayer too.
Enjoy London, sounds like a bit of a whirlwind weekend you're having!
And you have a grand weekend pernguinapping and riding pillion. Should i notice anyone looking through binoculars whilst holding a penguin i'll be sure to give you a wave :)
(I'm tempted to take Rob to Elie for a day of beaching with the dogs, but not if it's pishing down.....)
Anyway, TODAY. I've just had root treatment on my back molar. My face feels like it's actually been punched -10
BUT, I didn't lose the tooth +20
I've just made the boyfriend a lovely scottish breakfast of slice, black pudding, fruit pudding, sausages and tattie scones (fried in butter). +20
I can't eat any of it because my face feels like it's been punched -10 (it's only -10 because of the calorie save)
It is pishing it down -10
I have to go and get the train to work soon and my dogs will cry -20
But I get to come home to them in a few hours, and I'm going to cook baked feat and puttanesca for dinner, and maybe go out and get melted with friends later +100 :)
HAVE A GREAT TIME SCOUT AND DO NOT STEAL ANY PENGUINS UNLESS YOU ALSO GET ONE FOR ME :)
Fucking hangover. I hate me.
and then going to play some frisbee and have a barbeque in the park. and then tomorrow i'm having a housewarming gettogether. and on sunday it's raining. might go see my grandfather or something.
Then I might meet up with some mates after or I'll go home and get my housemate to shave most of my hair off. Tomorrow I work again then I'm off to Guildford for a mate's houseparty
I might try and quash this by staying in Ryde all weekend and getting hammered. Not until this evening though. I want to go fossil hunting and for a swim first.
layabout time with some new books and rentals
