(I was rubbish at it anyway)
'a snake wrapped round my arm biting a vein on my wrist'
- Going to gigs/festivals etc
- Posting on music forums
- Wearing knee length shorts or t shirts with bands on
- Shagging 19 year olds
So go on be a rebel and do all those. You may need to ask the wife's permission regarding the last one. If she doesn't let you then I suppose you can console yourself with the usual wife-swapping that everyone takes part in once they reach middle age.
i'm going to be doing that until i'm in my 80's
but my legs and back ache loads when I come away from gigs these days, let alone when i'm 50.
Seriously though, you can do whatever the hell you want. I just think there are some things that as you start to get older, get harder to pull off without being all self conscious about how ridiculous it must appear to passing human beings.
Wearing band shirts now I'm in my 30s is starting to slip into this category for me actually, which is problematic as 33% of all my clothing has band names emblazoned across the chestal area.
but the one that really does baffle me is this 'band t shirt' business....I really don't get why some people mention this one (even if it is in jest) I mean .....well I dont know what i mean cos i really cannot see a problem with this, I cant imagine that people think that it is wrong for someone older to love music.
Last night I was listening to pulp, kruder and dorfmeister, miss kitten, and someone called DJ Vitalic
I don't really see a problem with older people (I'm not really sure of the correct term, if there is one that is) wearing band t-shirts. Music is for anyone who likes to listen to it. Showing your support of a band by wearing their t-shirt shouldn't be reserved for us 'young'uns'. You can do what the hell you want, really.
ever. They look ruddy lame. What's wrong with a nice white shirt? Did you ever see any of the Rat Pack in a Death From Above t-shirt?
I mean..theres the type of understated band logo t shirts that any age can pull off....but full on loud 'photo of the band' Limp Bizkit,RATM,Nirvana,sLIPKNOT type tshirts can only be and should only ever be worn by 13-16 yr old. Like choosing any item of clothing you have to adapt to your frame and look ....same as Im sure you wouldnt buy skinny jeans in Top Man anymore....but if you do fair play...all power to ya.
I'm 30 but I do look a bit younger but I am worried how long I can continue to walk about with band T-shirts. I guess it's the old cliched image of the middle-aged guy with the Iron Maiden T-shirt, long hair and a band covered denim jacket - I don't want to be that guy.
should have been badge covered denim jacket.
you've got about another 10 years of sex
CHEEKY WINK :D
