Isaac Newton loved his cat, but was getting frustrated with it nudging the door of his attic open when he was conducting light experiments in a blacked-out room. To get around this, he cut a hole for the cat so that it could pass through, with a flap of felt hanging down over it. This is generally considered the first cat-flap, another thing to add to Newton’s list of achievements, and is actually quite well known (and mentioned in Adam's Dirk Gentley). However, when the cat had kittens, Newton cut several smaller holes in the bottom of the door, so that they could pass through, not realising that they’d follow their mother through the first one.
Cats are fantastic.
plus wouldn't light still get through the cat flap?
Isaac Newton - bit of a belmlord
And, no, the velvet flap prevented light from coming through.
but those tiny little feet look hilarious. Looks like a couple of out of proportion T-Rex arms fused onto his knees.
have you seen the video of him riding a battered old vespa ?
It's awesome and all, but the guy totally fucks up all of the engineering in those feet by wrapping them in tape.
