can any one recommend a really (really) basic audio interface
I've written this out once already so I hope it doesnt reappear and make me look stupid but anyway...
I recently bought a macbook and annoyingly the headphones and line in share the same socket (nice one apple) making it impossible to listend to something and record over it at the same time. So I need some kind of USB or firewire interface, I have a preamp already so dont want some fancy thing with multiple channels and controls adding another layer of complication, I just want something that will let me plug a line level line in, I dont care about quality (except latency obviously) as id happily use the onboard one if I could so anything that matched that would be fine. I explained all this to my local guitar shop and they ended up recommending me some £250 thing that was exactly the opposite of everything I said, and the ones I pointed out they said didnt have the drivers for mac (hmm suspicious). So yeah does such a thing as a basic usb/firewire line in exist? the m-audio transit looked ideal but seems to be discontinued
