England V Japan and all that world cup business being less than two weeks away
Missed the goal :-(
The Japanese have been doubling up on him from the off, and he's struggling. Get Lennon over there.
has been really disappointing in both matches so far. I worry for his fitness.
Serbia lost 1-0 at home to NZ and Speain struggled past Saudia Arabia 3-2 - but twenty minutes in and England are looking a bit pants
he's in central europe in may.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Everton ?!
and now he is even standing up, does that mean England are going to score soon?
another thing for my 'why i don't really like lampard at all' list
i'd find some stat of how many goals england have scored when crouch or heskey are on the field compared to when they are missing
England have scored 61 goals under Capello.
23 of them have come with Couch on the pitch, contributing 6 of his own.
24 of them have come with Heskey on the pitch, scoring 2.
(And unless I've misread this A4 sheet of notes and squiggles, they've not been on the pitch at the same time. If they have, it doesn't affect my calculations)
21 for Crouch, didn't spot him coming on AND going off in the Slovakia friendly.
(NB: If Crouch and Heskey have been on the field at the same time, there wasn't an England goal so my notes didn't pick it up.)
if you can get a work permit for him
I think I'm right in saying that Wright-Phillips has yet to get a telling pass/shot away.
can't imagine england would've got one if that hadn't gone in. they'll probably win it now
seen this a few times
Millwall deservedly beat an abject Swindon team, who were a little short on quality throughout the team.
The Lions were hungry after agonisingly losing last year's final to Scunny. They also looked far more clinical and were able to force chances whilst Swindon lacked that cutting edge.
That's enough platitudes for now. Anyone else go to the match?
if ever a scoreline hid the facts.
Sounds like someone's being murdered in the stands.
What a season this fella's had.
over those bloody horn things come the actual tournament
the way the commentators are talking you'd think they battered them.
Rooney man of the match "by miles"?
England have been getting shitter by the game
"Man of the match by a mile" according to Chiles.
Can someone explain to me why?
it was Southgate's decision
Rooney could have found himself sent off. Hart looked good. If Gerrard can't play 45 minutes without breaking down he shouldn't be on the plane.
This was one of those friendly games where the manager knows less at the end than he did at the beginning. Players were playing themselves OUT of contention rather than into it.
I cannot understand the fixation with Heskey. He just wastes a shirt that could be taken by a proper player. If the idea is to provide service to Rooney then it might be best to notice that Rooney seems to do ok at Man U without a big lump to lay on chances for him.
that's pushed his value up to around £50m for next summer
Frank Lampard makes an appearance in a tescos advert
what an embarrassment
England never had to rely on own goals under Labour

England never went 143 runs without a wicket v Bangladesh under Labour 25 minutes ago via txt
so if we start playing well at the world cup, it's ours...
england didn't play well once. i can see this one being fairly similar.
i don't really think the players understand how technically poor they are. we won, ho hum, on we go.
Why do all England players seem to be scared of running with the ball or making runs off it? There's no point having players like Lennon, SWP or Walcott if they're gonna play like that..Joe Cole looked better, actually possessing some skill and not just pace.
And the age old Gerrard / Lampard problem is ongoing too. Oh well.
we've been dicussing it for 10 years, and its never worked.
In fact, I bet they're licking their chops.
