Another potential volcanic eruption/air travel/stuff

Just read about another Icelandic volcano called Katla, very close to & five times the size of EyjafjallajokullLOL... Historically, every time EyjaLOL erupts, it triggers an eruption from Katla, which hasn't erupted since 1918, the longest time it's ever been settled. It's been showing signs of unrest since 1999, and looks like it may erupt soon. And if it does, it's predicted that European airspace would be closed down for EIGHTEEN MONTHS.
Not sure what my point is, but this is pretty incredible... How would Europe cope without planes for a year & a half? How many airlines would go out of business? Amazing scenes.
