big parks please. not london fields.
BBQs are banned in the royal parks because swans kept sitting on them and catching fire. And that's the truth, ruth.
What's wrong with London Fields? I like it there. The Dove is nearby. BBQ plus belgian beer? Yes please. BBBBQ.
I can't work out if the people who go there are just too moronic to take their rubbish with them when the bins overflow or the Council need to put in much bigger ones. A combination of both, I suppose.
Either way I pity the staff who have to clear all that shit up. :(
do it in the garden
(I do though, I'm Rockefeller)
just have a picnic instead
i want meat. and i want it slightly under-done in ailing light.
We get loads of turkish cider and throw sausages at the cats
a) get to cardiff
b) know my name
c) find out where I live
Dig down and flip the turf over to create an earth patch for the BBQ. Flop the turf back when you're done and pat down.
Cook it at home, whack it ina thermos flask and take to the park
in a H pattern then the turf should lift up out of the ground very easily as two flaps with a little aid from the spade.
My aunt worked at Wycombe Abbey girls' school and so her family lived on the grounds. My uncle would do this on their grounds when we wanted to have a bonfire out there. Obviously this was during school holidays when I'd visit.
I just assumed meths really wanted to see something burn other than his pasty white Anglo-Saxon skin.
There are few things more terrifying to a nice indie boy than a group of girls in the age range 11-16.
just do it on one of the communal pieces of grass, nobody will care. they're probably overgrown and shabby anyway.
I live right near Hampstead Heath. last time I went there some chavs were throwing a plastic bottle into one of the ponds for their chav dogs to fetch. Fun for all the family!
all streets in Camden (borough) get swept at least twice a week. main roads more like five times a week. main streets are swept like constantly.
i don't think its particularly dirty as such. i've certainly been to dirtier places - manhattan below 14th really sticks in my mind, there are always bags of rubbish lying around and i've seen bins on the street that have swarms of rats all over them.
i mean, you get places like Oxford Street which are constantly strewn with litter but there's basically no way to keep a street like that clean anyway, the footfall is just too huge.
i think the massive renting culture here doesn't really help, though, as so many landlords are as shit lazy and irresponsible as their tenants. people from the other flats in my building have dumped loads of shit (a metal frame, a huge box full of other rubbish, misc crap) in the bin area here. someone even threw a bottle from an upper window towards a recycling box the other day (they missed), so there's now smashed glass all over the front. i mentioned this to the landlords and they told me that it was the responsibility of the tenants to get rid of their own rubbish and they would do nothing about. obviously the dickheads upstairs aren't going to get rid of it, so its just going to sit there now. there are so many awful, neglected rented houses with gardens full of crap like this, it doesn't really give off the best impression...
