Do you think that being 'internet hustlers' is now just as important to bands as making music?
or is 'the Internet killing music?'thread #32224346
Its usually a topic I find pretty boring and steer clear of, but I've been asked to write about it so ho hum -
People in bands - Do you feel that the concept of 'being an artist' means less in 2010? Do you feel pressure to generate Internet presence in the form of blog-buzz, twitter-memes, SEO or web-clicks?
Do you feel some bands exist merely as web-culture brands who also happen to make music?
Is it possible to be successful just makin' and performin' songs? Or does every band now have to effectively be their own web PR machine, utilising multiple social networks as well as musical networks such as MFlow, BandCamp, soundCloud etc?
Is this shit or good?
