About 4:35 in.
there's definitely something odd in the sky news water cooler
love how they're still going at it right at the end in the background
the guardian, indy, mirror, telegraph and mail
why not the others? :D
but as if campbell lost it too. you can't lose it with your hands in your pockets, everyone knows that.
while Boulton is still rabid :D
yelling that Boulton's gone off the chart, stop now and blame campbell for being provocative.
so much :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
...but you simply can't beat the master http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7mK5DwVsUU
Extra points for the full dinner dress.
there are just some people that you don't fuck with. Ken Clarke is really the only guy the Tories have.
...you do still half expect Clarke to put you in a headlock, knuckle-ruffle your hair and go " now let pour you a whisky, my dear old rascal" rather than get embroiled in too much of a hoo-har.
I do like Clarke.
that you could prove they were Nazi war criminals and they'd come out of the interview looking like the winner with a cheeky grin or complete nonchalance.
5:04 is when Boulton senses any political credibility he had just evaporated.
A little word in his ear saying 'You twat'.
Amazing. Boycott Sky.
i was actually down in westminster today and saw campbell wandering about, i would've congratulated him had i known about this.
i find campbell and peter mandleson's abilty to wind up just about anybody completely fascinating.
much as I'm ashamed to admit it, Mandelson has really grown on me since Thursday evening. He's such an odious character, but fantastic with it. I wish I had the ability to give the impression of remaining reasonable and wind people up to the extent these guys do.
then just throws out a pretty flippant personal remark and boulton loses it. there should be degrees in that kind of skill.
this election has conjured yet another 'Thick Of It' moment. Must be close to a series-worth by now. Despite the seriousness, there has been some hugely entertaining moments along the way...
Proof that Sky News can make little protesters look a bit silly but they really, really shouldn't mess with the big boys.
Campbell is a Class A cunt but sometimes it really is a lot of fun having the Class A cunts on your side.
there's nothing he can't do/hasn't done
...but he's still a Class A cunt. One interview isn't going to undo the damage caused by his role in the 45 minute claims/Andrew Gilligan/David Kelly mess, for instance. Let's celebrate individual moments like this, sure, but not forget the role he's played in some truly abhorrent political events.
*takes serious hat off, watches fat Sky News journo being pummelled. again*
Quite honestly. Slightly abhorrent, but my god, I'd love to be him.
Armando Ianucci said on Twitter at one of the Leader Debates about how Campbell had muttered something like, "That's the guy who's success is down to me," I think. You'd probably have to go back a fair few pages of his Tweets to find it.
With Mandelson having just got figures of 8-32 at the other end. Brilliant.
I had him down as more of a Warne figure. Spinning his way through the middle order whilst emotionally destroying anyone stepping to the crease before bowling his first ball. Legend.
was when Brown brought him into the cabinet, all the Tories laughed it off as desperate, and within a week they were embroiled in the Osbourne/Yacht party thing and were infighting. just ruthless.
this week they showed Osborne trying to sickburn Mandelson after one of the debates I think and Mandelson just look at him and say 'Now, why would you say something like that?'
Mandelson is a sort of Warne/Brearley hybrid. Campbell is Ricky Ponting. Prescott is Arjuna Ranatunga.
Scores many crucial runs but has a habit of running himself out through a lack of self-awareness.
once-mesmerising flashboy's been worked out by everyone everywhere, and desperately needs a new trick
Hangs around for a long time. Charming. Possibly a war criminal (I remember some of Atherton's innings).
I WENT THERE
Robin Cook as Ben Hollioake. Overrated, cocky and dead.
the dashing face of a new tomorrow
or maybe he is Dhoni
Deeply unfashionable, unquestionably effective, provides the backbone of a largely unlikeable team.
Jon Cruddas is Shane Bond - doesn't appear to want much to do with his team but often seems like the best player in it when he opens up
and David Miliband is Ian Bell
David Cameron as Ian Bell.
Maybe Rob Key instead.
Vince Cable is Graeme Swann
is a great shout.
Johnny come lately genius.
Not living up to early promise; bit of a twat; shags ugly celebrities.
I was wondering what to do with KP. By the same token I guess Evan Harris is, um...Matthew Hoggard?
Evan Harris DOES have a Party Casino account...
Tony Benn as Ian Botham. Retired but still shouting his mouth off from the side.
In 3 years' time it'll be 'remember him? he was quite posh'
...as in, how the fuck did he get the nod?
Mohammed Asif is that Met Police chief who got done for corruption
...the second best at his chosen profession in his own family.
no explanation required
Afghanistan is far more fashionable
and now they're MIXING IT WITH THE BIG BOYS
and everyone secretly loves them
Mandelson's look in this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNytr-EhbmU is crying out to be turned into a .gif. Well, maybe not 'crying out', but I know I'd like it.
Campbell trying to placate Boulton by calmly saying 'This is live on television. Dignity, dignity.'
Never really bothered with Sky News, but Boulton seems to have destroyed any credibility he ever had in that interview.
For me though, Campbell's nowhere near as good as Mandelson's been in recent times. Mandy's pure pantomime villain these days - for all his faults, I can't dislike the guy.
Part II: The Bradshaw bloodening. - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NWAkxKQLQs
I really think Boulton ought to have a lie down and have someone dab his forehead with a cold compress.
again yesterday. It was only going to ever end in disaster.
I think I spotted him in Sir Richard Steele's on Friday night!
but I do love a good wind-up merchant.
as an interviewee, to act as the balance to Labour politicians.
It's just really odd.
