Surely it can't get any worse... can it?
I've never seen Green Street. On this evidence i think i need to.
But I think that's just coz I hate South Africans.
I said this - and then I was told that he's not even meant to be a Saffer in that film, so it's alright.
Accent's still annoying though.
Some kind of annoying alien jewel-thief?
He's supposed to be from Zimbabwe, and apparently did a good job with the accent, eh?
...but it's still well annoying, eh.
Should have cast Mugabe.
"i am captain corelli-ah! i play-ah the mandolin-ah for you!"
nah, nicholas "call me nicholas" cage
He's supposedto be spanish. WHAT IS HIS ACCENT?
PROVE IT'S WRONG, HUH?
ie English in the film represent whatever language the characters actually would have spoken, so it would not make sense for any of them to put on an accent.
See also Tom Cruise in Valkyrie debate, he "speaks" German really, except in the movie reality we hear it as English, it's his first language so he would not have a foreign accent on his first language.
They should be speaking Latin in the appropriate accent. As well have fucking Chow Yun Fat playing a Legionary.
I withdraw my vote for you in the coming election.
I didn't mean to puncture your rizla skin (copyright Gowman), I'm sorry.
and the 'x' at the end.
Well it was only meant to be a light-hearted Chow Yun Fat meme joke...
You're Michael Douglas to my Robert Duvall!
when you burn you make typos.
Did I spell it wrong? The 'you might' is implicit so it's perfectly acceptable in my view.
way that was implicit.
Maybe I just read strange books. :(
I JUST GOT THEO'D, BITCH
If you're going to go all technical about it, the elites of the film should have been speaking as much Greek as they did Latin...
Or indeed Lambert's 'Scottish' in Highlander? :D
Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman in Far and Away
Sean Connery in any non-Scottish role
"I know where the baaarstaaard sleeps" etc
SPOILER but then it turns out she isn't French anyway. Half marks.
I like french maids
(take note, ladies)
It's a great film (possibly only for nostalgic reasons).
1 Sean Connery (Russian, Irish American, Spanish)
2 Dick Van Dyke (Cockney)
3 Don Cheadle (Cockney)
manages to go from bad to so-bad-it's-good to so-bad-it's-bad-again
Dominic 'McNulty' West adds about twelve tons of mature cheddar to his role as an Italian-American mobster in the last Punisher movie.
Just one of the many, many things that make that film so great.
the 'russian' soldier that appears throughout the film is the single worst attempt at acting i have ever, ever seen.
Attempts a half-assed Irish accent, blatantly gives up after a measely 20 minutes in. Gotta love him.
Alexander was not Irish.
He's speaking in Elizabethan English, ffs.
