Well, do you?
i see concave Mystery Jets 6th form types with their pre-faded t-shirts tucked into their pre-faded jeans sometimes.
i am 30 and slightly paunched. there's no way i'm tucking my t-shirt in.
(not me though)
(this google search was less traumatic than yesterday's)
that tshirt has just been cut perfectly to match up to the line of the jeans, and the creases are a pattern on the shirt itself. sorry.
But yeah, I try and tuck that into my jeans
i just roll it up inside the jumper.
Not because it looks scruffy, but just because if I'm putting a jumper on it's because I need to be warm, and letting air up through the T-shirt defeats that.
but only when i am wearing a sweater or cardigan (and it is done up) so you cant tell that i am tucked in. it keeps the heat in and means you dont need to wear a jacket.
i wouldnt do it if i wasnt wearing anything over it. that just looks stupid.
Tucking your t-shirt into your trousers makes you look like either:
a) a PE/Geography teacher wearing a polo shirt/jogging trousers/trainers combo.
b) a fundie.
He gets a pass though. On everything.
*not including his own band
Jesus Lizard, Melt Banana, Superchunk, Oxbow, The Auteurs, John Spencer Blues Explosion, Silver Apples, Will Oldham, The Dirty Three, Nina Nastasia, Low, The Ex, Mogwai, Mclusky, The Breeders, Electrelane, Mono and Scout Niblett, obv.
and there's some freaky fucking cold wind blowing up on my stomach. This is the only acceptable time to do this and NOTE it's invisible because you're wearing your coat done up.
and if i've got a jumper/sweater/hoodie/whatever to cover the belt/join bit.
in a 1980s/early-Neighbours kind of style. It reminds me of the electroclash era.
and wearing it untucked, it looks more like some kind of strange skirt. Wouldn't it be ok to loosely tuck it in?
Just ... no.
i guess i don't wear jeans that often. And it depends what kind of top it is. if it's really loose then probably not, but if it's just a normal tshirt then yeah. but half the time i also usually have my top tucked into my skirt.
i'm a fashion disaster though, usually i look bad, and when i make an effort i look questionable.
Women have their own rules for fashion. When you're in a gender that wears a belt as a fashion accessory, deliberately avoids pockets, likes 'playsuits', Ugg boots and the concept of tights without foot covering, t-shirts being tucked into jeans are low on the list of worries.
never trust a tucker! theyre always fucked up and everyone knows it, normal people do not do this
