could this be one of the best dalek stories of the modern era?
i think i'm confused.
i'd like some more of that.
But nice to see the daleks get away rather than being destroyed and then brought back to life.
and look more like old school daleks
the white one especially
I enjoyed their range of Ikea colour schemes
I don't fancy the new Doctor anymore. I was talking to a seventeen year old boy who looked like him, then he started stroking my hand and trying to get aff with me it was weird. I'd never been hit on by someone properly younger than me before.
Anyway, excited. I will report back what I think about it tomorrow.
I was stotious
for a refreshing treat
but the girl playing the new assistant is amazing.
remember Eccleston when he confronted a Dalek chained up in a basement? Waaay more terrifying and interesting!
That said, next week's looks really awesome and Amy Pond makes me go all mushy inside, and she's completely mental and I like that.
and it's only been three episodes
but if the daleks could now fuck off for at least three series I'd be a very happy man.
Not the first classic IMHO of the new Doctor's reign though like The Guardian suggested. In fact, I think I enjoyed the last two episodes more?
It was probably the second best Dalek storyline of the new era behind 'Dalek', but that's not saying much.
Felt a weirdly disjointed episode though. Kind of glad they wiped out the hybrid Daleks and got back to the master race and the new design was kinda cool; 50% old school, 50% brand new and modern.
Weird that Amy and the Doc split up though. Wondered if that's because it was perhaps written before Moffat had fleshed out their traits? But it lacked the interaction that made the first two shows so great.
Found some of it a bit hard to follow again. Maybe it's the hangover, but the whole 'Testimony' thing and Dalek's pretending to be servants was weird? Liked it when the Doc spazzed out though with that wrench, reminded me of Eccleston's fear of seeing that solitary one. Though why he later punched that inventor baffled me...
I hope the next time we see the Daleks they're on a foreign planet. The whole scaariness of the things came originally from their brutality; nuking whole worlds, other inferior beings, even themselves just to 'ethnically cleanse'. We desperately need to see them be evil to ever fear them.
They should 'do an Adric' and maybe kill an assistant off with one, or have a show where the Doc comes to realise that in the few years since he let them get away to save teh Earth, they've wiped out 4 entire galaxies or something...
Anyhow, I'm WELL excited about next weeks. Looks like they're on a foreign planet, THAT woman is back as are Blink 182. Awesome.
