I wonder if you could help me.
I'm very much interested in the second world war, and in particular, the Battle of Normandy (and all that came between then and VE day). I'm not much bothered by Pacific and African theatres at all.
I want to read a book by someone involved in it.
But I want it to be written in an engaging and personal sense.
I don't want it to be "XI Armoured Core advanced on Fifth Panzer Brigade at Caen and suffered many losses." I want it to be more like "I jumped out of my tank just before it exploded and did a somersault to dodge the shrapnel." etc.
