I am going to an event soon where i need to look smart but also not like i've just popped out from the office.

I've bought a dark navy pencil skirt, and i have some pretty banging tangerine coloured high heels, but i'm stuck on what to wear with them. Something cream is bound to look too officey, something orange probably a bit much, and something navy a bit boring?
