This is my fave Buffii teh Vampyr Slayah episode:
Also in the top 20 episodes of anything ever, IMO BTW.
I like Hush but I never really got why people thought it was that great. I guess it was just that the rest of Season 4 was a bit lacking.
is just another way of saying you're wrong."
:-D That quote is AWESOMELY antagonistic
Scratch that. No begging about it.
But y'know, Giles going apeshit on Angel in Season 2.
The Wish where Cordelia's wish is granted followed by the return of evil Willow...
Most episodes in Season 4 featuring neutered Spike.
The Chandler, I mean Xander, heavy episodes are clearly the best, like the one where everyone falls in love with him. Th musical one is a fucking abomination.
Shame this got so shit after Buffy died for the second time (was it the second? The first time she was actually buried, anyway). Even the early episodes don't hold up too well now.
just because it was one of the most daring, absorbing, funny, wierd and scary episodes of any television show ever. Also "Restless", which is the only show I've ever seen that actually captures the idea of dream logic and again it's very funny. And "Superstar" is brilliant too.
Seasons 2 and 3 probably had the strongest narratives and some great episodes throughout but season 4's more episodic layout allowed for more fantastic stand-alone eps.
All this said, I watched "The Body" recently and as someone who is not usually prone to tearing up at films and never at TV, I was a wreck during and for about an hour after that episode.
I'd quite like to see once more with feeling again, to see if its good as people still say it is (to be fair, Dr Horrible is awesome so I have high hopes.)
I really love Tabula Rasa (the one where Willow casts the spell and everyone forgets who they are.)
But there's a massive block of Season 3 episodes all around the time Faith goes bad - i.e. Bad Girls, Enemies and Graduation Day finale. Also, the whole Faith/Buffy body swap in season 4.
Also Normal Again from season 6 is pretty fucked up: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Normal_Again
TOO MUCH CHOICE.
"I knew there was a reason I hated you!"
and when he discovers he can fight: "hey, I'm a superhero too!" and Buffy/Joan runs off screaming.
The first time I mean, when the end credits come up over him saying something like, "Come on, let's get out there and kill some vampires!" while they're all recovering.
That's Doomed from season 4. When he's wearing the hawaiian shirt and Willow and Xander walk in on him trying to stake himself. :D
"What’s this? Sitting around watching the telly while there’s evil still a foot. That’s not very industrious of
you. I say we go out there and kick a little demon ass! What, can’t go without your Buffy, is that it? Too chicken? Let’s find her!
She is the Chosen One after all. Come on! Vampires! Grrr! Nasty! Let’s annihilate them. For justice - and for - the safety of puppies – and
Christmas, right? Let’s fight that evil! Let’s kill something! Oh, come on!"
Where Faith tortures Wesley.
was the moment that Angel became an amazing show. The first season was starting to spin it's wheels (monster fight club?) a bit then this came up. Wierdly it had to be a crossover that gave Angel it's own identity as a show.
When she's begging him to end her life and wants redeption. :(
I've got to say Once More With Feeling, and also Tabula Rasa, the one that comes straight after it.
Both fantastic episodes.
Tabula Rasa was SO GOOD and also obviously Hush & OMWF
it's £114. i have about that left of my overdraft just now :(
they were super reduced a while back to like 50 quid and I got them for Kirsty for her birthday :) tomorrow if we meet for beers you can be all HAY CAN I HAVE YOUR DVDS PLS LOLOLOLOL
Of course, I have some boxsets in the book format from when they were £70 each...and I'd already bought the VHS from Blackstar the day they came out and watched them in an evening or two after work getting up past the BBC... :-/
they dominated the. market back in the day
followed by any anya or andrew centric episode
The Body was very well made. Normal Again, too. I think Season 6 was quite underappreciated. Er, The Gift, Tough Love because the Glory-Willow fight was great. I admit I haven't seen all of the first three seasons, Graduation Day was great though.
On the flipside, the last ep of Season 4 was definitely the most rubbish Buffy season finale.
It probably actually isnt, but I used to think it was, and I got teary eyed watching it the other day when very drunk. But maybe that was just due to not having watched any Buffy for over a year.
definitely in my top 5 favourite shows of all time. Happen to be rewatching them now. Just finished The Wish last night.
Fave ep is easily Hush, but plenty of the others mentioned already are tops: Normal Again, Superstar, Tabula Rasa, Bad Girls, just about any ep that focuses on Spike. I enjoyed OMWF the first time round, but can't say I've loved it on subsequent viewings. Might even skip it this time round...
